Rolling, Pitching and Yawing of a Superconducting Maglev Vehicle
1995
The dynamic characteristics of a Maglev vehicle are influenced by both the translational and the rotational degrees of freedom. As a result, the rolling, pitching and yawing motion modes must be included in a complete description of the dynamic features of a Maglev vehicle. Furthermore, the analysis of this motion modes is also very useful in order to obtain the highest achievable riding comfort.
UAQ4 Levitating Train: Italian Maglev Transportation System
2014
This article illustrates the University of L'Aquila model 4 (UAQ4) Italian maglev train, a transportation system with zero motion resistance (except aerodynamic drag) and greatly reduced energy consumption, approaching zero at a low constant speed. The project is the result of more than 40 years of research in the field of nonconventional highspeed transportation systems. Its technological feasibility has been tested in the laboratory at the University of L'Aquila, Italy.
An electromagnetic generator for MAGLEV transportation systems
2015
The fundamental idea of this paper is to use the distribution theory to analyze linear generators in order to include in the mathematical model both ideal a non ideal features. This paper shows how the use of distribution theory can be used in order to establish a mathematical model able to describe both the ordinary working condition of a linear generator for MAGLEV systems as well the role of the unavoidable irregularities and non-ideal features.
A Lagrangian Approach to the Electromechanical Aspects of the Superconducting Magnets for Maglev
1994
The superconducting magnets for Maglev are exposed during their operation to strong time dependent fields, which can cause losses and therefore can affect the stability of the magnets. In this work the electromechanical behaviour of a superconducting magnet, which is used as field magnet of a linear synchronous motor, is examined.
