Newspapers and Cross-Level Communications on Social Media : A comparative study of Japan, Korea, and Finland

In order to examine how the same types of social media are perceived and utilized in different national contexts for journalism and news media, we studied mainstream newspapers in three countries where both newspapers and social media are viable: Japan, Korea, and Finland. Our in-depth interviews with journalists indicate both similarities and differences in the three countries. The most outstanding similarity is that newspapers have not fully incorporated cross-level communications available on social media platforms. The ability to infer mental and affective states of others is crucial for social functioning. This ability, denoted as Theory of Mind (ToM), develops rapidly during childhood, yet results on its development across adolescence and into young adulthood are rare. In the present study, we tested the two‐component model, measuring age‐related changes in social‐perceptual and social‐cognitive ToM in a sample of 267 participants between 11 and 25 years of age. Tässä tutkielmassa selvitetään sitä, miten Euroopan unioni määritellään Helsingin Sanomien uutisissa ja miten lehden uutiset rakentavat eurooppalaista solidaarisuutta. Tarkastelun kohteena ovat toukokuussa 2014 pidetyt EU-parlamenttivaalit ja aineisto on kerätty aikaväliltä 1.4.- 30.6.2014. Metodina tässä tutkielmassa on käytetty sisällön erittelyä. Aineistoa on luokiteltu EU:n määritelmien, puhujien, toimijoiden, teemojen, näkökulmien, identiteettien, suhtautumisen sekä arvojen perusteella. In the context of a constant increase of the number of primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty, an increased risk of complication is expected.
