Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää, millainen keskustelu ulkomaalaisten maanomistuksesta rakentui eteläkarjalaisessa maakuntalehdessä, Etelä-Saimaassa. Tutkimus palaa kesään 2007 ja tarkastelee kriittistä diskurssianalyysia apuna käyttäen lehdessä rakentuneita diskursseja ja niiden representaatioita eri genreissä ja genrejen rajapinnoilla. Experiences of left-behind family members of transnational migrant workers have been in the shadow of academic discourse on migration. To contribute to the slowly growing body of literature, this study explores the impact of male out-migration on left-behind wives. The study proposes and applies a novel framework to estimate Women Empowerment Index (WEI) for comparing the empowerment level across households with and without men in transnational labor. The purpose of my study is to examine how female skiers are represented in the texts of a Finnish sports magazine, Urheilulehti, and how these representations have changed during the examination period from 1905 to 2010. Relying on Judith Butler’s ideology of gender performativity, I analyse the representations of female skiers from the perspective of promoting the traditional female norm and simultaneously from the perspective of breaking and reforming it. Players with high physical fitness are at greater risk of injury in youth football.

The aim of this study was to investigate physical fitness, football-specific skills and their association with injury risk in youth football. Altogether 447 male and female players aged 9 to 14 years (median 12 years) participated in performance tests and prospective follow-up. The physical fitness tests included five-jump test for distance, 30-m sprint, football-specific figure of eight agility, countermovement jump, and Yo-Yo intermittent endurance test level 1. En el trasplante renal es indicativa de lesión renal a nivel glomerular y tubulointersticial, y se ha relacionado con una peor supervivencia del injerto y del paciente.
