Partendo dall’assunto che lo spazio è un linguaggio e che anche il cibo è un linguaggio, quello che si cercherà di mostrare in questo contributo è come questi due linguaggi, insieme, veicolino specifiche concezioni sull’animalità. Ci si soffermerà per questo su due diversi luoghi del consumo alimentare che pongono al centro della loro proposta di senso gli animali e che negli ultimi anni si stanno diffondendo in ambienti metropolitani: i cat café, in cui i gatti sono concepiti come soggetti da coccolare, investiti di un valore prevalentemente affettivo, e i dog restaurant, in cui i cani sono i veri e propri avventori del ristorante.

The acetyl-CoA-dependent enzyme vinorine synthase was isolated from hybrid cell suspension cultures of Rauvolfia serpentina and Rhazya stricta. The sarpagan-type alkaloid gardneral was used as a substrate of the enzyme leading to the ajmalan-type 10-methoxyvinorine. An HPLC-based assay was developed to monitor vinorine synthase activity, which allowed establishing a five step purification procedure combining anion exchange, hydrophobic interaction, hydroxyapatite and gel filtration. Purification resulted in a yield of 0.2% and an approximately 991-fold enrichment of the acetyltransfer activity. SDS-PAGE analysis showed a Mr for the enzyme of approximately 50 kDa. Changes in land surface temperatures and NDVI values over Europe between 1982 and 1999

Abstract We used land surface temperature (LST) algorithms and NDVI values to estimate changes in vegetation in the European continent between 1982 and 1999 from the Pathfinder AVHRR Land (PAL) dataset. These two parameters are monitored through HANTS (Harmonic ANalysis of Time Series) software, which allows the simultaneous observation of mean value, first harmonic amplitude and phase behaviors in the same image. These results for each complete year of data show the effect of volcanic aerosols and orbital drift on PAL data. Background: The study of hematic concentrations of alpha1 antitrypsin (AAT) is currently one step in the diagnosis of AAT deficiency. To try to clarify the relevance of the laboratory techniques, we carried out a systematic review of the literature. Methods: Studies evaluating the quantification of AAT in peripheral blood were searched in PubMed in July 2021. The selection criteria included (1) any type of study design that included a quantification of AAT in peripheral blood; (2) studies written in English or Spanish; (3) studies evaluating human beings; and (4) studies involving adults. The identification of a product, with its geographical origin, is a guaranty of the value of the foodstuff and protection from potential fraud. Extra virgin olive oil is produced or marketed as a single variety or a blend of two or more cultivars, often of different geographic origins. Therefore, to study a possible link between the soil and olive oil, we accounted crucial to analyse the behaviour of olive of different cultivars.
