Abstract We consider multi-criteria group decision-making problems, where the decision makers (DMs) want to identify their most preferred alternative(s) based on uncertain or inaccurate criteria measurements. In many real-life problems the uncertainties may be dependent. In this paper, we focus on multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems where the criteria and their uncertainties are computed using a stochastic simulation model. The model is based on decision variables and stochastic parameters with given distributions. The role of internal resources in the competitive positioning of Sicilian wine cooperatives

The paper is an original article that uses accounting frameworks to determine what creates a competitive advantage in a cooperative business model. In particular, it investigates the influence of tangible, intangible and financial resources on the business performance of cooperatives operating in the Sicilian wine industry, with the RBV of the firms as a theoretical background. Abstract This work aims at evaluating the mechanical performance of joints in an AA6016 alloy, manufactured by means of two alternative processes: friction stir welding and adhesive bonding. The minimum time transfer of a satellite around the Earth is studied. In order to deal numerically with low thrusts, a new method is introduced: Based on a so-called noncontrollability function, the technique treats the ha1 time as a parameter. 3D Geosynchronous Transfer of a Satellite: Continuation on the Thrust

The minimum-time transfer of a satellite from a low and eccentric initial orbit toward a high geostationary orbit is considered. This study is preliminary to the analysis of similar transfer cases with more complicated performance indexes (maximization of payload, for instance). The orbital inclination of the spacecraft is taken into account (3D model), and the thrust available is assumed to be very small (e.g. 0.3 Newton for an initial mass of 1500 kg). Convergence rate of a relaxed inertial proximal algorithm for convex minimization

International audience; In a Hilbert space setting, the authors recently introduced a general class of relaxed inertial proximal algorithms that aim to solve monotone inclusions. In this paper, we specialize this study in the case of non-smooth convex minimization problems. We obtain convergence rates for values which have similarities with the results based on the Nesterov accelerated gradient method. The joint adjustment of inertia, relaxation and proximal terms plays a central role. In doing so, we highlight inertial proximal algorithms that converge for general monotone inclusions, and which, in the case of convex minimization, give fast convergence rates of values in the worst case.

Browsing the information highway while driving: three in-vehicle touch screen scrolling methods and driver distraction

Distraction effects of three alternative touch screen scrolling methods for searching music tracks on a mobile device were studied in a driving simulation experiment with 24 participants. Page-bypage scrolling methods with Buttons or Swipe that better facilitate resumption of visual search following interruptions were expected to lead to more consistent in-vehicle glance durations and thus, on less severe distraction effects than Kinetic scrolling. Gir boplikt lavere boligpriser?

Siden 1974 har norske kommuner hatt adgang til å innføre boplikt for eiendommer som er eller har vært i bruk som helårsbolig. Ordningen har helt siden den ble innført, vært svært omstridt. Vi undersøker hvordan boplikt påvirker boligprisene. Geografisk avgrenser vi oss til kystkommuner på Sørlandet, der mange som har sin faste bopel andre steder i landet, etterspør fritidsbolig. Uten boplikt kan helårsboliger bli kjøpt opp for å bli brukt som fritidsboliger. Den empiriske analysen, basert på data fra fire sørlandskommuner, hvorav den største kommunen, Arendal, opphevet boplikten i 2014, viser at prisene i kystsonen økte da boplikten ble opphevet.
