How can integrated marketing communications and advanced technology influence the creation of customer-based brand equity? Evidence from the hospital…

2014

Abstract As the most recent approach of communication management, the integrated marketing communication (IMC) programmes, enhanced by the advancements in information and communication technology (ICT), are considered an important contribution to the brand equity building. However, hardly any research has been done on the role of this new communication practice in the hospitality industry. Moreover, previous studies have mainly focused on managers’ opinions, overlooking customers’ perceptions of both marketing communications and advanced technology. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to examine, from the customer perspective, the impact of integrated marketing communications on hotel…

Marketing communication metrics for social media

2011

The objective of this paper is to develop a conceptual framework for measuring the effectiveness of social media marketing communications. Specifically, we study whether the existing marketing communications performance metrics are still valid in the changing digitalised communications landscape, or whether it is time to rethink them, or even to devise entirely new metrics. Recent advances in information technology and marketing bring a need to re-examine measurement models. We combine two important research topics and set directions for potential future research. Metrics to measure marketing communications performance have developed towards a customer orientation. There is no broadly accep…

The Impact of Integrated Marketing Communications on Hotel Brand Equity

2020

The Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) approach appeared as a response to the need for more sophisticated marketing communication discipline in a confusing tourism marketing environment. This chapter examines the impact of IMC on the hotel brand equity dimensions, i.e. brand image, perceived quality, and brand loyalty. Moreover, it estimates the moderating effect of national culture on the relationships examined. The study is approached from the customer perspective and uses survey methodology to assess guests' perception of IMC and brand equity in the hotel contexts. In particular, 335 hotel guests participated in the empirical investigation while staying in high-quality hotels in R…

Estimation of Role of Sicilian Region on Production of Quality Wines. A Comparison between the Best Sicilian and Italian Wines by Using Influential W…

2016

Abstract Sicilian region (Southern Italy) has always been the larger Italian wine producer, because of their terroir (i.e. climate, soil and cultivar) and the extension of the vineyard area. For a long time, in the past, Sicilian vineyards produced only wine for blending or for bulk wine consumption. However, the quality of wine production in the Sicilian region has raised significantly over the past years, due to numerous factors, including, primarily, the development of manufacturing techniques, the major business investments of wineries, and the better legislation for protection of quality wines. These factors, combined with producers' targeted marketing strategies and actions, have grea…

How can perceived consistency in marketing communications influence customer-brand relationship outcomes?

2020

Abstract This paper examines the impact of perceived consistency in marketing communications on customer–brand relationship outcomes. The perception of consistent message and image through different marketing communication tools is one of the basic principles of the integrated marketing communications (IMC) approach. Although literature suggests that IMC might have an influence on customer–brand relationship outcomes, empirical evidence that supports this assumption is still weak and inconclusive. Three main brand relationship outcomes are established for the purpose of the study, i.e. trust, commitment, and loyalty. The relationships between perceived communication consistency and brand ou…

THE INFLUENCE OF INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS ON THE DEMAND OF SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS AT LATVIAN FOOD RETAIL CHAINS

2018

Research background: There are a number of product-related tools subject to regulation by state authorities and controlled by subordinate authorities. From the viewpoint of sustainable development, novelties in the legislation, government regulations and other regulatory enactments would enable the state to not only enhance the assortment of sustainable products at food retail chains, but also to raise the awareness of consumers, thus also triggering changes in demand for sustainable (ecological, environment-friendly, high-quality) products. Consumers lack information on the characteristics of the products purchased; they are not knowledgeable about the nutritional value, packaging, raw mat…

INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS IN SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS

2018

Business sustainability hinges on authorities’ action, cooperation and willingness to protect nature and natural resources, but they also have to meet the economic needs and cultivate the economic opportunities, whilst also satisfying the social needs and building a fair relationship among the different social groups.
