Master Majorana neutrino mass parametrization
2019
After introducing a master formula for the Majorana neutrino mass matrix, we present a master parametrization for the Yukawa matrices automatically in agreement with neutrino oscillation data. This parametrization can be used for any model that induces Majorana neutrino masses. The application of the master parametrization is also illustrated in an example model, with special focus on its lepton flavor violating phenomenology.
η–η′ mixing in the flavor basis and large N
2010
Abstract The mass matrix for η – η ′ is derived in the flavor basis at O ( p 4 ) of the chiral Lagrangian using the large N approximation. Under certain assumptions, the mixing angle ϕ = 41.4 ° and the decay constants ratio f K / f π = 1.15 are calculated in agreement with the data. It appears that the FKS scheme arises as a special limit of the chiral Lagrangian. Their mass matrix is obtained without the hypothesis on the mixing pattern of the decay constants.

Minimal 3-loop neutrino mass models and charged lepton flavor violation
2020
We study charged lepton flavor violation for the three most popular 3-loop Majorana neutrino mass models. We call these models "minimal" since their particle content correspond to the minimal sets for which genuine 3-loop models can be constructed. In all the three minimal models the neutrino mass matrix is proportional to some powers of Standard Model lepton masses, providing additional suppression factors on top of the expected loop suppression. To correctly explain neutrino masses, therefore large Yukawa couplings are needed in these models. We calculate charged lepton flavor violating observables and find that the three minimal models survive the current constraints only in very narrow …
Models for neutrino mass with discrete symmetries
2010
Discrete non-abelian flavor symmetries give in a natural way tri-bimaximal (TBM) mixing as showed in a prototype model. However neutrino mass matrix pattern may be very different from the tri-bimaximal one if small deviations of TBM will be observed. We give the result of a model independent analysis for TBM neutrino mass pattern.
Fritzsch neutrino mass matrix fromS3symmetry
2010
We present an extension of the Standard Model (SM) based on the discrete flavor symmetry S3 which gives a neutrino mass matrix with two-zero texture of Fritzsch-type and nearly diagonal charged lepton mass matrix. The model is compatible with the normal hierarchy only and predicts the sine squared of the reactor angle to be 0.01 at the best fit values of solar and atmospheric parameters and maximal leptonic CP violation.
Probing CPT in transitions with entangled neutral kaons
2015
In this paper we present a novel CPT symmetry test in the neutral kaon system based, for the first time, on the direct comparison of the probabilities of a transition and its CPT reverse. The required interchange of in ↔ out states for a given process is obtained exploiting the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlations of neutral kaon pairs produced at a ϕ-factory. The observable quantities have been constructed by selecting the two semileptonic decays for flavour tag, the ππ and 3π 0 decays for CP tag and the time orderings of the decay pairs. The interpretation in terms of the standard Weisskopf-Wigner approach to this system, directly connects CPT violation in these observables to the violati…
Lepton Transmutation in the Dualized Standard Model
2002
The successful explanation of fermion mixing and of the fermion mass hierarchy by the Dualized Standard Model (DSM) scheme is based on the premises of a fermion mass matrix rotating in generation space with changing scales at a certain speed, which could in principle lead to sizeable flavour-violation observable in high sensitivity experiments such as BaBar. However, a full perturbative calculation to 1-loop order reported here shows that this kinematical, flavour-violating effect of a rotating mass matrix is off-set in the DSM by parallel effects from rotating wave functions and vertices giving in the end only very small flavour-violations which are unlikely to be detectable by present exp…
Revealing the Majorana nature of heavy neutrinos via a heavy Higgs boson
1992
Abstract Analyzing several recently proposed models, based on simple extensions of the standard model (SM), with heavy Majorana neutrinos, it is shown that the change of detecting lepton number violation through their production and subsequent decays may be significantly enhanced, if a heavy Higgs boson with mass within a reasonably broad range is present.
Photo-transmutation of leptons
2001
By photo-transmutation of leptons we mean photon-lepton reactions of the following type: $\gamma l_\alpha \longrightarrow \gamma l_\beta$ with $l_\alpha \neq l_\beta$, occurring as a consequence of the lepton mass matrix changing its orientation (rotating) under changing scales. In this paper, we first discuss these reactions in general terms, then proceed to the calculation of their cross sections in two specific schemes, one within the framework of the conventional Standard Model, the other being the so-called Dualized Standard Model we ourselves advocate. Although the cross section obtained is generally small the calculation reveals certain special circumstances where these reactions may…
