Triangle singularity in the B−→K−π0X(3872) reaction and sensitivity to the X(3872) mass
2020
We have done a study of the ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}X(3872)$ reaction by means of a triangle mechanism via the chain of reactions: ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{D}^{*0}{\overline{D}}^{*0}$; ${D}^{*0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{D}^{0}$; ${D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{*0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}X(3872)$. We show that this mechanism generates a triangle singularity in the ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}X(3872)$ invariant mass for a very narrow window of the $X(3872)$ mass, around the present measured values, and show that the peak positions and the shape of the mass distributions are sensitiv…
Measurement of the4He-D2 mass difference
1990
A Penning ion trap spectrometer has been used to measure the modified cyclotron frequencies of trapped4He+ and D 2 + ions. The resonances were detected by a time of flight method after ejection of the ions from the trap. We obtain a mass differenceΔm (D2-4He) = 25600331(5)·10−9 amu in acordance with published values but with a reduced uncertainty.
Strukturuntersuchung von polyestern durch direkten abbau im massenspektrometer, 4. Polyester und copolyester der milchsäure und glykolsäure
1978
Polyesters and copolyesters of 2-hydroxyacetic acid (glycolic acid) and 2-hydroxypropionic acid (lactic acid) were investigated by direct pyrolysis in the ion source of a mass spectrometer. Thermal degradation of these polyesters and copolyesters at 10−6 mbar yields cyclic oligomers which are further degraded by an electron impact induced mechanism by elimination of formaldehyde or acetaldehyde and CO2 to give characteristic series of linear ions. In the pyrolysis mass spectrum of a copolyester (mole ratio of monomeric units ≈1:1) intact sequences up to 8 monomeric units can be observed.

Model compound synthesis for the structure determination of new unknown planar aromatic compounds originating from pulp mill
1991
Abstract Several model compounds have been synthesized for verification of the structures of new unknown planar aromatic compounds (UPACs) observed in high-resolution gas chromatography/low-resolution mass spectrometry analyses of the polychlorodibenzodioxins (PCDDs) and polychlorodibenzofurans (PCDFs) in pulp mill products, effluents, sediments and mussels. The mass spectra of synthetic alkyl polychlorodibenzofurans (C6-PCDFs) were different, but those of alkyl polychlorobibenzyls (C5-PCBBs) were very similar compared to the spectra of UPACs.
Observation of an Anomalous Line Shape of theη′π+π−Mass Spectrum near thepp¯Mass Threshold inJ/ψ→γη′π+π−
2016
Using 1.09 x 10(9) J/psi events collected by the BESIII experiment in 2012, we study the J / psi -> gamma eta'pi(+)pi(-) process and observe a significant abrupt change in the slope of the eta'pi(+)pi(-) invariant mass distribution at the proton-antiproton (p (p) over bar) mass threshold. We use two models to characterize the eta'pi(+)pi(-) line shape around 1.85 GeV/c(2): one that explicitly incorporates the opening of a decay threshold in the mass spectrum (Flatte formula), and another that is the coherent sum of two resonant amplitudes. Both fits show almost equally good agreement with data, and suggest the existence of either a broad state around 1.85 GeV/c(2) with strong couplings to t…
Exclusive production of pion and kaon meson pairs in two photon collisions at LEP
2003
Exclusive production of pi and K meson pairs in two photon collisions is measured with ALEPH data collected between 1992 and 2000. Cross-sections are presented as a function of cos theta* and invariant mass, for \ cos theta* \ < 0.6 and invariant masses between 2.0 and 6.0 GeV/c(2) (2.25 and 4.0 GeV/c(2)) for pions (kaons). The shape of the distributions are found to be well described by QCD predictions but the data have a significantly higher normalization. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier B.V.
Spectroscopy of doubly charmed baryons
2004
We study the mass spectrum of baryons with two and three charmed quarks. For double charm baryons the spin splitting is found to be smaller than standard quark-model potential predictions. This splitting is not influenced either by the particular form of the confining potential or by the regularization taken for the contact term of the spin-spin potential. We consistently predict the spectra for triply charmed baryons.
Observation of Two NewΞb−Baryon Resonances
2015
Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the Ξb0π- mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0fb-1, recorded by the LHCb experiment. In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content bds are expected in this mass region: the spin-parity JP=(1/2)+ and JP=(3/2)+ states, denoted Ξb′- and Ξb∗-. Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass differences and the width of the heavier state to be m(Ξb′-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=3.653±0.018±0.006MeV/c2, m(Ξb∗-)-m(Ξb0)-m(π-)=23.96±0.12±0.06MeV/c2, Γ(Ξb∗-)=1.65±0.31±0.10MeV, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systema…
Search for light resonances decaying to boosted quark pairs and produced in association with a photon or a jet in proton–proton collisions at s=13TeV…
2019
This Letter presents a search for new light resonances decaying to pairs of quarks and produced in association with a high- pT photon or jet. The dataset consists of proton–proton collisions with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb −1 at a centre-of-mass energy of s=13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Resonance candidates are identified as massive large-radius jets with substructure consistent with a particle decaying into a quark pair. The mass spectrum of the candidates is examined for local excesses above background. No evidence of a new resonance is observed in the data, which are used to exclude the production of a lepto-phobic axial-vector Z′ boson.
