A New Theoretical Approach on Teenage Cyclist-Vehicle Crash

Data obtained in teenage cyclist impact against three vehicles (sedan, SUV and Pick Up), tested in previous works, are analyzed to verify the theoretical results by the coupling of momentum conservation principle and energy conservation principle. The speed of vehicle and thorax are compared with theoretical ones, obtaining an excellent agreement. Following the results found in the literature, particular emphasis is done on teenager cyclist thorax and head speeds, indicating that the cyclist speed can be theoretically until 1,41 times the impact speed, while greater values, until 2, are obtained in the simulations. Cognitive-behavioral treatment of online role-playing videogames: proposal of treatment and a case study

El propósito de este trabajo es presentar una propuesta de tratamiento cognitivo-conductual para la intervención en la adicción a video juegos. Se presenta el caso de un varón de 21 años con problemas con el uso de los videojuegos. Se expone el procedimiento en cada una de las fases de las que consta el tratamiento, así como los resultados de su eficacia en un estudio de caso. Después de trece semanas de intervención se aprecian importantes cambios en el nivel de dependencia. We apply classical gluodynamics to early stages of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. We start by giving a brief overview of QCD. Then we proceed to the space-time evolution of ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions in the color glass condensate framework and go through the basics of real-time gluodynamics on the lattice in the temporal gauge. We study the plasmon mass scale in three- and two-dimensional systems by comparing three different methods to measure the mass scale. Gas-liquid stirred vessels are widely employed to carry out chemical reactions involving a gas reagent and a liquid phase. The usual way for introducing the gas stream into the liquid phase is through suitable distributors placed below the impeller. An interesting alternative is that of using “self ingesting” vessels where the headspace gas phase is injected and dispersed into the vessel through suitable surface vortices. QCD NLO with Powheg matching and top threshold matching in WHIZARD

We present the status of the automation of NLO processes within the event generator WHIZARD. The program provides an automated FKS subtraction and phase space integration over the FKS regions, while the (QCD) NLO matrix element is accessed via the Binoth Les Houches Interface from an externally linked one-loop program. Massless and massive test cases and validation are shown for several e+e- processes. Furthermore, we discuss work in progress and future plans. The second part covers the matching of the NRQCD prediction with NLL threshold resummation to the NLO continuum top pair production at lepton colliders. Free-floating thrombus in the right ventricle, associated with a massive acute pulmonary embolism (PE), is a rare phenomenon. PE is an important clinical entity with considerable mortality despite advances in diagnosis and treatment. The prognosis of PE depends on right ventricular dysfunction, myocardial injury markers, and early treatment. In this report, we present the case of a 71-year-old woman with a history of breast cancer admitted to intensive care unit for PE complicated by syncope. Torrefiointi on uusi tapa käsitellä biomassaa. Torrefioitua biomassaa voidaan käyttää korvaaman fossiilisia polttoaineita korkealaatuista polttoainetta vaativissa voimalaitoksissa, joissa perinteisten biopolttoaineiden laatu ei riitä. Torrefiointi lisää biomassan energiatiheyttä ja tehollista lämpöarvoa merkittävästi. Kasvanut energiatiheys alentaa myös kuljetuskustannuksia verrattuna muihin biopolttoaineisiin. Tämän vuoksi torrefoidusta biomassasta, erityisesti torrefioiduista puupelleteistä on kaavailtu kivihiilen korvaavaa polttoainetta pölypolttolaitoksissa.
