L’affectif, les valeurs et le matching dans les choix des investisseurs individuels en incertitude : le cas de l’equity crowdfunding

2018

Our research focuses on the emotional and axiological determinants of investment choice in equity crowdfunding. We defend the thesis of a projects choice determined in part by the values and emotions of the individual investor. Our literature review is transversal to several fields of social sciences. Thus, the established theoretical framework articulates finance, marketing, HRM and psychology. An explanatory model using structural equations is proposed and tested empirically using data from a laboratory experiment. Our results confirm that values and interest in the project, an affective variable, have a significant effect on investor choices and dominate analytical judgment in the absenc…

2019

The ability to respond flexibly to changing environmental circumstances is a hallmark of goal-directed behavior, and compromised flexibility is associated with a wide range of psychiatric conditions in humans, such as addiction and stress-related disorders. To identify neural circuits and transmitter systems implicated in the provision of cognitive flexibility, suitable animal paradigms are needed. Ideally, such models should be easy to implement, allow for rapid task acquisition, provide multiple behavioral readouts, and permit combination with physiological and pharmacological testing and manipulation. Here, we describe a paradigm meeting these requirements and employ it to investigate th…

Non-critically phase-matched cascaded THG at 440 nm in KTiOP1−yAsyO4 crystals

1995

Abstract We report the relative nonlinear optical properties of flux-grown KTiOP 1− y As y O 4 crystals ( y =0, y =0.03 and y =0.12). The non-critical phase-matching temperatures along the x -axis for blue generation by type II indirect third harmonic generation from 1318.8 nm and 1320 nm are measured. The phosphorus-arsenic substitution allows a “chemical tuning” of the phase-matching properties, through a birefringence variation, so that non-critical phase-matching at room temperature is possible for the previous interactions. Type II frequency doubling from 1064 nm is briefly considered.

Lithium niobate step-index waveguides for broadband second harmonic generation

2006

We investigate modal phase matching in lithium niobate step-index waveguides for second harmonic generation. We predict doubling bandwidths as large as 110 nm and show that temperature tuning can compensate for any deviation from the designed film thickness. © World Scientific Publishing Company.

Quadratic nonlinear optical parameters of 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 crystal

2016

International audience; Pure and 7% MgO-doped lithium niobate (LiNbO3) single crystals were grown by the Czochralski technique. The shift of optical absorption edge in 7% MgO-doped crystal in direction of shorter wavelength compared to undoped crystal was observed. The second harmonic generation measurements of 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 crystal were performed at room temperature by means of the rotational Maker fringe technique using Nd:YAG laser generating at 1064 nm in picoseconds regime. Experimentally obtained value of nonlinear optical coefficient d33 for 7% MgO-doped LiNbO3 was found to be less than for undoped crystal but higher than for 5% MgO-doped. Geometric characterization and simulation of planar layered elastomeric fibrous biomaterials

2015

An important class of biomaterials is composed of layered networks of elastomeric fibers. While there is a growing interest in modeling and simulation of the mechanical response of these biomaterials, a theoretical foundation for such simulations has yet to be firmly established. The present work addresses this issue in two ways. First, using methods of geometric probability we develop theoretical estimates for the linear and areal fiber intersection densities for two-dimensional fibrous networks. These are expressed in terms of the fiber density and orientation distribution function, both of which are relatively easy to measure properties. Secondly, we develop a random walk algorithm for g…

Phase-matching measurements and Sellmeier equations over the complete transparency range of KTiOAsO_4, RbTiOAsO_4, and CsTiOAsO_4

2000

The sphere method is used for the direct measurement of sum- and difference-frequency generation phase matched in the principal planes of KTiOAsO4, RbTiOAsO4, and CsTiOAsO4, including the tuning curves of 1.064-µm-pumped OPO’s emitting between 3 and 5 µm. The nonlinear least-squares fitting of our experimental data leads to refined dispersion equations of the principal refractive indices; the resulting dual-oscillator form equations are valid over the complete transparency range of the three studied materials.

Unbiased Branches: An Open Problem

2007

The majority of currently available dynamic branch predictors base their prediction accuracy on the previous k branch outcomes. Such predictors sustain high prediction accuracy but they do not consider the impact of unbiased branches, which are difficult-to-predict. In this paper, we evaluate the impact of unbiased branches in terms of prediction accuracy on a range of branch difference predictors using prediction by partial matching, multiple Markov prediction and neural-based prediction. Since our focus is on the impact that unbiased branches have on processor performance, timing issues and hardware costs are out of scope of this investigation. Our simulation results, with the SPEC2000 in…
