A symmetrization result for Monge–Ampère type equations
2007
In this paper we prove some comparison results for Monge–Ampere type equations in dimension two. We also consider the case of eigenfunctions and we derive a kind of “reverse” inequalities. (© 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
Multi-resolution analysis generated by a seed function
2009
In this paper we use the equivalence result originally proved by the author, which relates a multiresolution analysis (MRA) of ℒ2(R) and an orthonormal set of single electron wave functions in the lowest Landau level, to build up a procedure which produces, starting with a certain square-integrable function, a MRA of ℒ2(R). © 2003 American Institute of Physics.
Integration of multifunctions with closed convex values in arbitrary Banach spaces
2018
Integral properties of multifunctions with closed convex values are studied. In this more general framework not all the tools and the technique used for weakly compact convex valued multifunctions work. We pay particular attention to the "positive multifunctions". Among them an investigation of multifunctions determined by vector-valued functions is presented. Finally, decomposition results are obtained for scalarly and gauge-defined integrals of multifunctions and a full description of McShane integrability in terms of Henstock and Pettis integrability is given.
Weyl-Type Theorems on Banach Spaces Under Compact Perturbations
2018
In this paper, we study Browder-type and Weyl-type theorems for operators $$T+K$$ defined on a Banach space X, where K is (a non necessarily commuting) compact operator on X. In the last part, the theory is exemplified in the case of isometries, analytic Toeplitz operators, semi-shift operators, and weighted right shifts.
METRIC DIFFERENTIABILITY OF LIPSCHITZ MAPS
2013
AbstractAn extension of Rademacher’s theorem is proved for Lipschitz mappings between Banach spaces without the Radon–Nikodým property.
Some Remarks on the Spectral Properties of Toeplitz Operators
2019
In this paper, we study some local spectral properties of Toeplitz operators $$T_\phi $$ defined on Hardy spaces, as the localized single-valued extension property and the property of being hereditarily polaroid.
Nonlinear Robin problems with unilateral constraints and dependence on the gradient
2018
We consider a nonlinear Robin problem driven by the p-Laplacian, with unilateral constraints and a reaction term depending also on the gradient (convection term). Using a topological approach based on fixed point theory (the Leray-Schauder alternative principle) and approximating the original problem using the Moreau-Yosida approximations of the subdifferential term, we prove the existence of a smooth solution.
On finite T-groups
2003
[EN] Characterisations of finite groups in which normality is a transitive relation are presented in the paper. We also characterise the finite groups in which every subgroup is either permutable or coincides with its permutiser as the groups in which every subgroup is permutable.
A matheuristic for the Team Orienteering Arc Routing Problem
2015
In the Team OrienteeringArc Routing Problem (TOARP) the potential customers are located on the arcs of a directed graph and are to be chosen on the basis of an associated profit. A limited fleet of vehicles is available to serve the chosen customers. Each vehicle has to satisfy a maximum route duration constraint. The goal is to maximize the profit of the served customers. We propose a matheuristic for the TOARP and test it on a set of benchmark instances for which the optimal solution or an upper bound is known. The matheuristic finds the optimal solutions on all, except one, instances of one of the four classes of tested instances (with up to 27 vertices and 296 arcs). The average error o…

2010), 285–306, 46Exx (46J10) It is known that each McShane integrable function is also Pettis integrable, while the reverse implication in general is not true. The equivalence of McShane and Pettis integrability depends on the target Banach space X and has been proven: by R. A. Gordon [Illinois J. Math. 34 (1990), no. 3, 557–567, 26A42 (28B15 46G10 49Q15)], and by D. H. Fremlin and J. Mendoza [Illinois J. Math. 38 (1994), no. 1, 127–147, 46G10 (28B05)] if X is separable, by D. Preiss and the reviewer [Illinois J.
