From pseudo-bosons to pseudo-Hermiticity via multiple generalized Bogoliubov transformations
2016
We consider the special type of pseudo-bosonic systems that can be mapped to standard bosons by means of generalized Bogoliubov transformation and demonstrate that a pseudo-Hermitian systems can be obtained from them by means of a second subsequent Bogoliubov transformation. We employ these operators in a simple model and study three different types of scenarios for the constraints on the model parameters giving rise to a Hermitian system, a pseudo-Hermitian system in which the second the Bogoliubov transformations is equivalent to the associated Dyson map and one in which we obtain D-quasi bases.
Graphical metric space: a generalized setting in fixed point theory
2016
Building on recent ideas of Jachymski, we work on the notion of graphical metric space and prove an analogous result for the contraction mapping principle. In particular, the triangular inequality is replaced by a weaker one, which is satisfied by only those points which are situated on some path included in the graphical structure associated with the space. Some consequences, examples and an application to integral equations are presented to confirm the significance and unifying power of obtained generalizations.
Some classes of finite groups and mutually permutable products
2008
[EN] This paper is devoted to the study of mutually permutable products of finite groups. A factorised group G=AB is said to be a mutually permutable product of its factors A and B when each factor permutes with every subgroup of the other factor. We prove that mutually permutable products of Y-groups (groups satisfying a converse of Lagrange's theorem) and SC-groups (groups whose chief factors are simple) are SC-groups, by means of a local version. Next we show that the product of pairwise mutually permutable Y-groups is supersoluble. Finally, we give a local version of the result stating that when a mutually permutable product of two groups is a PST-group (that is, a group in which every …

A note on faithful traces on a von Neumann algebra
2009
In this short note we give some techniques for constructing, starting from a {\it sufficient} family $\mc F$ of semifinite or finite traces on a von Neumann algebra $\M$, a new trace which is faithful.
On the exponent of mutually permutable products of two abelian groups
2016
In this paper we obtain some bounds for the exponent of a finite group, and its derived subgroup, which is a mutually permutable product of two abelian subgroups. They improve the ones known for products of finite abelian groups, and they are used to derive some interesting structural properties of such products.
phi-Best proximity point theorems and applications to variational inequality problems
2017
The main concern of this study is to introduce the notion of $$\varphi $$ -best proximity points and establish the existence and uniqueness of $$\varphi $$ -best proximity point for non-self mappings satisfying $$(F,\varphi )$$ -proximal and $$(F,\varphi )$$ -weak proximal contraction conditions in the context of complete metric spaces. Some examples are supplied to support the usability of our results. As applications of the obtained results, some new best proximity point results in partial metric spaces are presented. Furthermore, sufficient conditions to ensure the existence of a unique solution for a variational inequality problem are also discussed.
The class of F-contraction mappings with a measure of noncompactness
2017
In this chapter we review a class of contraction conditions, which are largely used to obtain interesting generalizations of the Banach fixed-point theorem in various abstract settings. We also present a new fixed-point existence result obtained by considering such a kind of contraction condition and a measure of noncompactness. Moreover, we show the applicability of these results in the theory of functional equations.
The diamond partial order in rings
2013
In this paper we introduce a new partial order on a ring, namely the diamond partial order. This order is an extension of a partial order defined in a matrix setting in [J.K. Baksalary and J. Hauke, A further algebraic version of Cochran's theorem and matrix partial orderings, Linear Algebra and its Applications, 127, 157--169, 1990]. We characterize the diamond partial order on rings and study its relationships with other partial orders known in the literature. We also analyze successors, predecessors and maximal elements under the diamond order.
Parameter dependence for the positive solutions of nonlinear, nonhomogeneous Robin problems
2020
We consider a parametric nonlinear Robin problem driven by a nonlinear nonhomogeneous differential operator plus an indefinite potential. The reaction term is $$(p-1)$$-superlinear but need not satisfy the usual Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition. We look for positive solutions and prove a bifurcation-type result for the set of positive solutions as the parameter $$\lambda >0$$ varies. Also we prove the existence of a minimal positive solution $$u_\lambda ^*$$ and determine the monotonicity and continuity properties of the map $$\lambda \rightarrow u_\lambda ^*$$.
