Teachers’ awareness, knowledge and practice of information security in school

Master's thesis in Information systems (IS501) We found that the teachers in our respondent schools lacked formal training on topics of information security. Most of them did not know what phishing, backdoors and keyloggers are, and many reused passwords across multiple sites. Analysis of relations between attitude towards mathematics, prior knowledge, self-efficacy, expected and actual grades in mathematics

The purpose of this study is to analyse relations between students’ attitude towards mathematics, prior knowledge, self-efficacy, expected grades, and performance in mathematics among 115 firstyear engineering students. We combine two statistical techniques to analyse the data we generated by questionnaires and two tests. First, item-level modeling, in terms of confirmatory factor analysis, which we use to compute the factor scores of construct-validated measures, and to control for measurement errors. The resource decisions and documents of undergraduate engineering students in mathematics courses

This thesis concerns a multiple case study, carried out at three Norwegian universities. The goal was to find similarities and differences between how engineering students from different university contexts used resources to learn mathematics, and how they made decisions regarding their use of resources. My project had an inductive focus, networking thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006) with the theoretical framework of the documentational approach to didactics (Gueudet & Trouche, 2009). This research focuses on the development of mathematical competencies of first-year university students in a Biology department as they engage in nonroutine open-ended mathematical tasks set in the context of biology. The research employs a scaling instrument on a modified extant competence framework to identify evidence of student competency development by exploring situations where students activate particular mathematical competencies. Grunnskolelærerstudenters erfaring med eBok-basert undervisning i matematikk

I denne artikkelen analyserer vi grunnskolelærerstudenters respons på en eBok-basert undervisningsform i matematikk. Denne eBoka besto av oppgaver med både skriftlige og videobaserte løsningsforslag. Oppgavene ble hentet fra tidligere gitte eksamensoppgaver knyttet til nasjonal deleksamen i matematikk. Formålet var å undersøke: a) hvordan studentene benyttet de ulike læringsressursene i eBoka, og b) på hvilke måter studentens bruk av læringsressursene hadde pragmatisk og epistemisk verdi (Artigue, 2002).
