This article investigates how Lean model is introduced in a management training course targeted at healthcare professionals in Finland. Lean management originated in the Japanese car industry; since the 1990s it has become a key management doctrine for healthcare reform in Western welfare states. Drawing on ethnographic research on a two-day Lean management training course in 2019, and by applying the analytical lenses of affects and sociomateriality, the article illustrates how Lean is made attractive to healthcare professionals. Problemi di Conservazione di un'opera di Land Art di straordinarie dimensioni: il Grande Cretto di Alberto Burri a Gibellina (TP)

This work deals with the conservation of one of the largest land art works in the world. It is a sort of white shroud laid on the ruins of the town of Gibellina, Sicily, after the tremendous earthquake of January 1968. The most significant aspects of the degradation phenomena observed on site are related to some faults in the construction, due to the prevailing of the artistic requirements over the good rules of concrete technology. Furthermore the guidelines for both a conservation intervention and the subsequent maintenance of the art work are also indicated.
The Socio-Material Value of Language Choices in Mozambique and Finland

AbstractThis chapter explores parental choice of language programs from a socio-material standpoint. It uses a DeleuzoGuattarian framework of smooth and striated spaces to understand how parents in Mozambique and Finland position themselves when making choices concerning their children’s language education. We analyzed interviews from Finland and focus groups and policy documents from Mozambique to understand the materialities and social discourses that constitute parental choice. Käsittelen artikkelissani kirjoituskoneella toteutettua konkreettista runoutta kielen materiaalisuuden näkökulmasta. Analysoin Steve McCafferyn 1960- ja 70-luvun tuotantoa, joka on tekstuuriltaan siinä määrin runsasta ja jopa kaoottista, että sitä on luonnehdittu termillä dirty concrete (erotuksena 50-luvun viileästä, hallitusta ja puhdaslinjaisesta konkretismista). McCafferyllä (s. 1947) on yhteyksiä yhdysvaltalaiseen kokeelliseen runouteen, erityisesti niin sanottuun language-suuntaukseen, jonka piirissä teoretisoitiin 1970-luvulta lähtien kysymystä kielen materiaalisuudesta.
