Drainage großer Brustdrüsenabszesse unter ästhetischen und funktionellen Aspekten

In 11 puerperal women, a breast abscess was treated by drainage from the inframammary fold. Eight patients wished to continue breast feeding. During the healing period, the babies were not breast fed on the operated side. In 3 patients, the skin over the abscess necrotised, resulting in a defect of 1 to 2 cm. In 2 patients, a small seroma had to be punctured after removing the drainage tube. Aesthetic results were judged by the patients as good. Resumation of suckling on the operated side revealed only 15 to 20% milk yield compared to that of the other breast. This treatment meets aesthetic and function-preserving criteria.

In 3 patients with vaginal aplasia respectively traumatic vaginal loss a neovagina was created out of the separated ileocecal segment. Advantages of this technique are the excellent blood supply of the ileocecal region and the long vascular pedicle. The additional application of terminal ileum for prolongation of the cecal vaginoplasty allows the tensionless anastomosis between neovagina and vulva even in patients with difficult anatomical conditions. The present paper gives a detailed description of the operative technique and the indications of the ileocecal vaginoplasty. Furthermore the common techniques for vaginal replacement are reviewed and discussed.

Background: Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders, with more than 400,000 individuals in Poland (about 1% of the population) affected. Epilepsy complicates approximately 0.5% of pregnancies. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge that neurologists and gynaecologists have about reproductive and maternity issues for women with epilepsy. Material and methods: This study included 141 neurologists and physicians undergoing specialist training in neurology as well as 72 gynaecologists and physicians undergoing specialist training in gynaecology. Background: We present a series of skin-sparing mastectomies (SSMs) with skin reduction and immediate breast reconstruction to treat large and ptotic breasts. The technique combines oncological mastectomy with immediate subpectoral implant placement as a single-step procedure. Methods: Data was collected from a prospective database from February 2009 to April 2011. A total of 24 patients with macromastia or pronounced ptosis fulfilled the criteria for skin-saving mastectomy. Even though most Muslims do not believe pregnant women are obligated to fast during Ramadan, fasting rates of up to 87% have been reported for pregnant women. Abstract Introduction For patients considering undergoing assisted reproductive techniques (ART), many concerns arise when persistent ovarian cysts are found. This large study aimed to determine how ovarian cyst removal affects success rates of IVF/ICSI therapies. Methods 550 patients who underwent an IVF/ICSI treatment between 2002 and 2011 with a persistent ovarian cyst ≤ 5 cm before treatment were analyzed retrospectively. 328 patientsʼ preference was to undergo a laparoscopic cystectomy and 222 patients opted for a conservative management. Detection of Subpubic Tumor Causing Bladder Outlet Obstruction by 3D Perineal Ultrasound

This case report shows that 3D perineal ultrasound can be superior to clinical examination and routine 2D perineal ultrasound in the detection of an unusual subpubic tumor. A 73-year-old female patient was referred to our urogynecological outpatient unit complaining of over-active bladder symptoms and voiding dysfunction for 3 years. Gynecological examination found no signs of pelvic organ prolapse or abnormality in the vaginal cavity. Routine 2D perineal ultrasound showed substantial residual urine (ca. 300 ml on catheter) and limited bladder neck mobility, but no signs of pelvic organ prolapse. En este artículo pretendemos atender a la representación de la figura de la madre en los denominados por la academia como mind-game o puzzle films. Sin que ni el espectador ni, frecuentemente, las propias protagonistas lo sepan, las películas que estudiaremos sostienen su relato sobre subjetividades delirantes, sobre puntos de vista engañosos. La enunciación fílmica, cómplice del autoengaño, amnesia o trauma de los personajes, traslada su percepción alterada de la realidad al espectador.
