Let M be a Kahler manifold with Ricci and antiholomorphic Ricci curvature bounded from below. Let ω be a domain in M with some bounds on the mean and JN-mean curvatures of its boundary ∂ω. The main result of this paper is a comparison theorem between the Mean Exit Time function defined on ω and the Mean Exit Time from a geodesic ball of the complex projective space ℂℙ n (λ) which involves a characterization of the geodesic balls among the domain ω. In order to achieve this, we prove a comparison theorem for the mean curvatures of hypersurfaces parallel to the boundary of ω, using the Index Lemma for Submanifolds.
Existence, uniqueness and comparison results for BSDEs with Lévy jumps in an extended monotonic generator setting

We show existence of a unique solution and a comparison theorem for a one-dimensional backward stochastic differential equation with jumps that emerge from a L\'evy process. The considered generators obey a time-dependent extended monotonicity condition in the y-variable and have linear time-dependent growth. Within this setting, the results generalize those of Royer (2006), Yin and Mao (2008) and, in the $L^2$-case with linear growth, those of Kruse and Popier (2016). Quantum like modelling of decision making: quantifying uncertainty with the aid of the Heisenberg-Robertson inequality

This paper contributes to quantum-like modeling of decision making (DM) under uncertainty through application of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle (in the form of the Robertson inequality). In this paper we apply this instrument to quantify uncertainty in DM performed by quantum-like agents. As an example, we apply the Heisenberg uncertainty principle to the determination of mutual interrelation of uncertainties for “incompatible questions” used to be asked in political opinion pools. Variational differential inclusions without ellipticity condition

The paper sets forth a new type of variational problem without any ellipticity or monotonicity condition. A prototype is a differential inclusion whose driving operator is the competing weighted $(p,q)$-Laplacian $-\Delta_p u+\mu\Delta_q u$ with $\mu\in \mathbb{R}$. Local and nonlocal boundary value problems fitting into this nonstandard setting are examined.
Pure Component Pricing in a Duopoly

In this paper, we focus on price competition between several multiproduct firms which produce differentiated systems, each consisting of two complementary products. It is shown here that if firms are restricted to pure component pricing (bundling is not allowed) whenever components produced are compatible, pure strategy equilibrium may not exist. With the use of bundling strategies, pure strategy equilibrium always exists. For the pure component pricing case we provide a full characterization for the existence of a pure strategy equilibrium.
Nonlinear Nonhomogeneous Robin Problems with Almost Critical and Partially Concave Reaction

We consider a nonlinear Robin problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator, with reaction which exhibits the competition of two Caratheodory terms. One is parametric, $$(p-1)$$-sublinear with a partially concave nonlinearity near zero. The other is $$(p-1)$$-superlinear and has almost critical growth. Exploiting the special geometry of the problem, we prove a bifurcation-type result, describing the changes in the set of positive solutions as the parameter $$\lambda >0$$ varies.

Background Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most commonly diagnosed psychiatric disorders in childhood. A wide variety of treatments have been used for the management of ADHD. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of pharmacological, psychological and complementary and alternative medicine interventions for the treatment of ADHD in children and adolescents. Learning with belief levels

AbstractWe study learning of predicate logics formulas from “elementary facts,” i.e. from the values of the predicates in the given model. Several models of learning are considered, but most of our attention is paid to learning with belief levels. We propose an axiom system which describes what we consider to be a human scientist's natural behavior when trying to explore these elementary facts. It is proved that no such system can be complete. However we believe that our axiom system is “practically” complete. Theorems presented in the paper in some sense confirm our hypothesis.
