Triangular Bézier Approximations to Constant Mean Curvature Surfaces
2008
We give a method to generate polynomial approximations to constant mean curvature surfaces with prescribed boundary. We address this problem by finding triangular Bezier extremals of the CMC-functional among all polynomial surfaces with a prescribed boundary. Moreover, we analyze the $\mathcal{C}^1$ problem, we give a procedure to obtain solutions once the tangent planes for the boundary curves are also given.
Some overdetermined problems related to the anisotropic capacity
2018
Abstract We characterize the Wulff shape of an anisotropic norm in terms of solutions to overdetermined problems for the Finsler p-capacity of a convex set Ω ⊂ R N , with 1 p N . In particular we show that if the Finsler p-capacitary potential u associated to Ω has two homothetic level sets then Ω is Wulff shape. Moreover, we show that the concavity exponent of u is q = − ( p − 1 ) / ( N − p ) if and only if Ω is Wulff shape.
On symplectically rigid local systems of rank four and Calabi–Yau operators
2013
AbstractWe classify all Sp4(C)-rigid, quasi-unipotent local systems and show that all of them have geometric origin. Furthermore, we investigate which of those having a maximal unipotent element are induced by fourth order Calabi–Yau operators. Via this approach, we reconstruct all known Calabi–Yau operators inducing an Sp4(C)-rigid monodromy tuple and obtain closed formulae for special solutions of them.
Malliavin Calculus of Bismut Type for Fractional Powers of Laplacians in Semi-Group Theory
2011
We translate into the language of semi-group theory Bismut's Calculus on boundary processes (Bismut (1983), Lèandre (1989)) which gives regularity result on the heat kernel associated with fractional powers of degenerated Laplacian. We translate into the language of semi-group theory the marriage of Bismut (1983) between the Malliavin Calculus of Bismut type on the underlying diffusion process and the Malliavin Calculus of Bismut type on the subordinator which is a jump process.

Immersions of compact riemannian manifolds into a ball of a complex space form
1997
There are some classical theorems on non-immersibility of compact riemannian manifolds with sectional curvature bounded from above given by Tompkins, O’Neill, Chern, Kuiper and Moore (see [3], pages 221-226). More recently, attention has been paid to the case of immersions into a geodesic ball of a simply connected space form, and some conditions of non-immersibility in such a ball have been proved. In particular, estimates for the mean curvature of a complete immersion into a geodesic ball have been obtained by Jorge and Xavier [11] and a corresponding rigidity theorem for compact hypersurfaces has been proved by Markvorsen [14]. In this paper we give the Kahler analogs of the theorems of …
Star calculus on Jacobi manifolds
2002
Abstract We study the Gerstenhaber bracket on differential forms induced by the two main examples of Jacobi manifolds: contact manifolds and l.c.s. manifolds. Moreover, we obtain explicit expressions of the generating operators and the derivations on the algebra of multivector fields. We define star operators for contact manifolds and l.c.s. manifolds and we study some of its properties.
Total curvatures of compact complex submanifolds in $$C/P^n$$
1995
LetM be a complex submanifold in\(C/P^n\). We define the total curvatures ofM and we get a local interpretation of them. Finally, we give a topological characterization for the total (non-absolute) curvature of complex hypersurfaces in\(C/P^n\).
On the quasi-isometric and bi-Lipschitz classification of 3D Riemannian Lie groups.
2021
AbstractThis note is concerned with the geometric classification of connected Lie groups of dimension three or less, endowed with left-invariant Riemannian metrics. On the one hand, assembling results from the literature, we give a review of the complete classification of such groups up to quasi-isometries and we compare the quasi-isometric classification with the bi-Lipschitz classification. On the other hand, we study the problem whether two quasi-isometrically equivalent Lie groups may be made isometric if equipped with suitable left-invariant Riemannian metrics. We show that this is the case for three-dimensional simply connected groups, but it is not true in general for multiply connec…
Iterative construction of Dupin cyclides characteristic circles using non-stationary Iterated Function Systems (IFS)
2012
International audience; A Dupin cyclide can be defined, in two different ways, as the envelope of an one-parameter family of oriented spheres. Each family of spheres can be seen as a conic in the space of spheres. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to compute a characteristic circle of a Dupin cyclide from a point and the tangent at this point in the space of spheres. Then, we propose iterative algorithms (in the space of spheres) to compute (in 3D space) some characteristic circles of a Dupin cyclide which blends two particular canal surfaces. As a singular point of a Dupin cyclide is a point at infinity in the space of spheres, we use the massic points defined by J.C. Fiorot. As we su…
