Simultaneous determination of Fusarium mycotoxins in wheat grain from Morocco by liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry
2014
Abstract In the present study, eighteen (18) mycotoxin produced by the genus Fusarium (fumonisins (FB1, FB2 and FB3), type-B trichothecenes (NIV, DON, FUS-X, 3Ac-DON and 15Ac-DON), type-A trichothecenes (NEO, DAS, T2 and HT2), zearalenone (ZEA), beauvericin (BEA), and enniatins (ENA, ENA1, ENB and ENB1)) were monitored in different samples of wheat grain commercialized in Morocco. A liquid chromatography coupled to triple quadrupole mass spectrometry method previous matrix solid phase dispersion extraction was used for sample analysis. A total of eighty (80) samples of durum wheat were collected in different local markets from several areas in Morocco. Analytical results showed that 54 out …
Bio-sintering processes in hexactinellid sponges: Fusion of bio-silica in giant basal spicules from Monorhaphis chuni☆
2009
The two sponge classes, Hexactinellida and Demospongiae, comprise a skeleton that is composed of siliceous skeletal elements (spicules). Spicule growth proceeds by appositional layering of lamellae that consist of silica nanoparticles, which are synthesized via the sponge-specific enzyme silicatein. While in demosponges during maturation the lamellae consolidate to a solid rod, the lamellar organization of hexactinellid spicules largely persists. However, the innermost lamellae, near the spicule core, can also fuse to a solid axial cylinder. Similar to the fusion of siliceous nanoparticles and lamella, in several hexactinellid species individual spicules unify during sintering-like processe…
Fuzzy Classifier Based on Fuzzy Decision Tree
2007
A popular method for making a fuzzy decision tree for classification is Fuzzy ID3 algorithm. We introduce a new approach that uses cumulative information estimations of initial data. Based on these estimations we propose a new greedy version of fuzzy ID3 algorithm to be used to generate understandable fuzzy classification rules. The goal is to find a sequence of rules that causes near minimal classification costs.
An Approach to the Concept of Soft Fuzzy Proximity
2014
The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of soft fuzzy proximity. Firstly, we give the definitions of soft fuzzy proximity and Katsaras soft fuzzy proximity, and also we investigate the relations between the soft fuzzy proximity and slightly modified version of Katsaras soft fuzzy proximity. Secondly, we induce a soft fuzzy topology from a given soft fuzzy proximity by using soft fuzzy closure operator. Then, we obtain the initial soft fuzzy proximity from a given family of soft fuzzy proximities. So, we describe products in the category of soft fuzzy proximities. Finally, we show that a family of all soft fuzzy proximities on a given set constitutes a complete lattice.
Fuzzy Discrete Event Simulation for Fuzzy Production Systems Analysis
1998
Abstract Fuzzy production systems are characterised by vagueness in data and requirements that very often cannot be reduced to stochastic models. Therefore, such production systems cannot be analysed by using classical techniques such as Queue Theory or Discrete Simulation Analysis. On the other hand the great diffusion of Fuzzy Production environments in small and medium enterprises claims for the development of new analysis tools. This paper proposes a new approach to Discrete Event Simulation able to treat with fuzzy variables. A new methodology has been proposed to process fuzzy information within discrete event simulation and a prototype of a Fuzzy Discrete Event Simulator has been dev…

Molecular data supports the inclusion of Ildobates neboti Español in Zuphiini (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Harpalinae)
2006
The phylogenetic relationships of Ildobates neboti Español (Coleoptera: Carabidae: Harpalinae) were investigated based on three nuclear genes (full 18S rRNA, and a fragment of each 28S rRNAand wingless). We compiled a data set using published sequences of 32 members of Harpalinae including one example each of Dryptini (genus Desera), Galeritini (Galerita) and Zuphiini (Thalpius), plus three Brachininae as outgroups. These three tribes form the “Dryptitae”, within which various relationships of Ildobates had been proposed. The analyses of the datamatrix using parsimony (with equally weighted and reweighted characters) and Bayesian posterior probabilities all support the monophyly of the three…
Kinetics of cytomegalovirus (CMV) pp65 and IE-1-specific IFNgamma CD8+ and CD4+ T cells during episodes of viral DNAemia in allogeneic stem cell tran…
2010
The dynamics of CMV pp65 and IE-1-specific IFNgamma-producing CD8(+) (IFNgamma CD8(+)) and CD4(+) (IFNgamma CD4(+)) T cells and CMV DNAemia were assessed in 19 pre-emptively treated episodes of active CMV infection. Peripheral counts of IFNgamma CD8(+) and IFNgamma CD4(+) T cells inversely correlated with CMV DNAemia levels (P = <0.001 and P = 0.003, respectively). A threshold value of 1.3 cells/microl predicting CMV DNAemia clearance was established for IFNgamma CD8(+) T cells (PPV, 100%; NPV, 93%) and for IFNgamma CD4(+) T cells (PPV, 100%; NPV, 75%). Undetectable T-cell responses were usually observed at the time of initiation of pre-emptive therapy. Either a rapid (within 7 days) or a d…

Urokinase Plasminogen Activator and Gelatinases Are Associated with Membrane Vesicles Shed by Human HT1080 Fibrosarcoma Cells
1997
Membrane vesicles are shed by tumor cells both in vivo and in vitro. Although their functions are not well understood, it has been proposed that they may play multiple roles in tumor progression. We characterized membrane vesicles from human HT1080 fibrosarcoma cell cultures for the presence of proteinases involved in tumor invasion. By gelatin zymography and Western blotting, these vesicles showed major bands corresponding to the zymogen and active forms of gelatinase B (MMP-9) and gelatinase A (MMP-2) and to the MMP-9. tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 complex. Both gelatinases appeared to be associated with the vesicle membrane. HT1080 cell vesicles also showed a strong, plasminoge…
