A disc-type motor with co-axial flux in the stator; - influence of magnetic circuit parameters on the torque

This paper presents a three-dimensional analysis of the magnetic field distribution for a three-phase, disc-type, permanent-magnet, brushless DC motor with co-axial flux in the stator. Calculations are carried out using the 3-D finite element method (FEM). The electromagnetic torque is determined from the Maxwell stress tensor. For comparison, various dimensions of permanent magnets, pole shoes and air gap are analysed. It is shown that the ripple-cogging torque can be effectively reduced by an appropriate permanent magnet width and air-gap length. The simulation results are in good agreement with experimental data obtained from the prototype motor.
Finite-Difference Time-Domain Simulation of Towers Cascade Under Lightning Surge Conditions

In this paper, the simulation of towers cascade under lightning surge conditions is presented. Finite-difference time-domain method is used to solve both the Maxwell's and telegraph equations. Maxwell's equations and the time-domain resistivity model of Darveniza are used to simulate the nonlinear behavior of the grounding system. Telegraph equations are used to describe the propagation in the overhead lines. Multiple ionizations, on different grounding electrodes belonging to various towers, can be implemented simultaneously, without making assumptions on the shape of the ionized areas.
Field‐circuit analysis of construction modifications of a torus‐type PMDC motor

This paper presents the field‐circuit analysis of a disc‐type torus DC motor with permanent magnets. Calculations of the magnetic field are carried out using the finite element method (FEM) in the 3D space. The integral quantities like the ripple‐cogging torque, back electromotive force, flux linkage, self and mutual inductances of the winding are analyzed. The electromagnetic torque is comparatively determined from the Maxwell stress tensor and co‐energy methods. International Standards define a Global Earthing System as an earthing net created interconnecting local Earthing Systems (generally through the shield of MV cables and/or bare buried conductors). Abstract The aim of this paper is to consider soliton propagation of heat signals along a cylinder whose heat exchange with the environment is a non-linear function of the difference of temperatures of the cylinder and the environment and whose heat transfer along the system is described by the Maxwell–Cattaneo equation. What is a singular black hole beyond general relativity?

Exploring the characterization of singular black hole spacetimes, we study the relation between energy density, curvature invariants, and geodesic completeness using a quadratic $f(R)$ gravity theory coupled to an anisotropic fluid. Working in a metric-affine approach, our models and solutions represent minimal extensions of General Relativity (GR) in the sense that they rapidly recover the usual Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m solution from near the inner horizon outwards. The anisotropic fluid helps modify only the innermost geometry. This paper describes a teaching approach to the concept of distribution that uses a specific activity related to the field of statistical mechanics. The concept of velocity distribution of a particle system is dealt with using an Inquiry Based approach involving an experimental examination of Maxwell’s Distribution.
