Some Thoughts on the Independence of Party-Appointed Expert in International Arbitration

Participation of experts in both commercial arbitration proceedings and investment arbitration proceedings is a well-known phenomenon for decades. A trend asking for parties-appointed experts to be independent is under development since the end of the twentieth century. The aim of this chapter is, at first, to make the point on this issue by analysing some of the most important current rules dedicated to international arbitration. Retoriskie jautājumi bija seno grieķu un romiešu intereses punkti. Tā kā retoriskajiem jautājumiem ir dažādas funkcijas, to izmantošana ir aktuāla arī mūsdienās. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir novērot retorisko jautājumu lietojumu astoņos dažādos ēdienu gatavošanas emuāros. Šajā pētījumā tika izmantotas divas pētījuma metodes – literatūras apskats un diskursa analīze. Tas ir gadījuma pētījums, jo attiecas uz atlasītu krājumu. Pētījuma rezultāti pierāda, ka nozīme ir cieši saistīta ar nodomu un kontekstu. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā veidojas nozīme Eiropas Savienības (ES) diskursā un atklāt vissarežģītākos aspektus priekš tiem valodas lietotājiem, kam angļu valoda nav dzimtā. Perceived collective continuity and ingroup identification as defence against death awareness

"Perhaps unique among the animal species, humans are aware that they will ultimately die. Terror management theory (TMT) posits that investing in a social group helps people to manage paralysing anxiety stemming from death awareness. In line with this proposition, research to date has shown that when reminded of their own mortality, people increase their identification with a relevant group and defend its beliefs, values, and practices. In the reported study, we demonstrate that a mortality salience induction enhances people’s perceptions of group temporal endurance—or perceived collective continuity (PCC), as we define it. Equine Assisted Learning is a practice in which adults engage in systematic and sustained self–educating activities in order to gain new forms of knowledge, skills, attitudes, or values. The purpose of this research is to illustrate the meaning and symbolic value of horse as underlying pattern in human thinking.
Development of trust in the CEO-chair relationship

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the trust development in the dyadic relationship of CEO and chair of the board. Design/methodology/approach A narrative approach is adopted to examine the meanings that CEOs and chairpersons give to trust in their relationship, and to explore trust as an evolving phenomenon that can increase or decline over the course of the relationship. The data include 16 CEO-chair dyads from Finnish limited companies. Findings The results suggest that trust may exist on different levels and evolve in various ways during the course of the relationship. En el presente artículo me propongo elucidar el significado del concepto 'pathos de la distancia' y sus implicaciones ético-políticas, destacando su sentido y coherencia con el conjunto del pensamiento nietzscheano. La tesis fundamental es que el pathos de la distancia, como característica básica del ideal noble, muestra cómo el concepto de preeminencia política en Nietzsche se diluye siempre en una idea de preeminencia anímica.
