A New Coupling Solution for G3-PLC Employment in MV Smart Grids

This paper proposes a new coupling solution for transmitting narrowband multicarrier power line communication (PLC) signals over medium voltage (MV) power lines. The proposed system is based on an innovative PLC coupling principle, patented by the authors, which exploits the capacitive divider embedded in voltage detecting systems (VDS) already installed inside the MV switchboard. Thus, no dedicated couplers have to be installed and no switchboard modifications or energy interruptions are needed. This allows a significant cost reduction of MV PLC implementation. Abstract Between 1 September and 4 October 2014, a combined airborne and ground-based measurement campaign was conducted to study tropical deep convective clouds over the Brazilian Amazon rain forest. The new German research aircraft, High Altitude and Long Range Research Aircraft (HALO), a modified Gulfstream G550, and extensive ground-based instrumentation were deployed in and near Manaus (State of Amazonas). Abstract Convergence almost everywhere cannot be induced by a topology, and if measure is finite, it coincides with almost uniform convergence and is finer than convergence in measure, which is induced by a metrizable topology. Measures are assumed to be finite. It is proved that convergence in measure is the Urysohn modification of convergence almost everywhere, which is pseudotopological. Extensions of these convergences from sequences to arbitrary filters are discussed, and a concept of measure-theoretic convergence is introduced. Convergence Theorems for Varying Measures Under Convexity Conditions and Applications

AbstractIn this paper, convergence theorems involving convex inequalities of Copson’s type (less restrictive than monotonicity assumptions) are given for varying measures, when imposing convexity conditions on the integrable functions or on the measures. Consequently, a continuous dependence result for a wide class of differential equations with many interesting applications, namely measure differential equations (including Stieltjes differential equations, generalized differential problems, impulsive differential equations with finitely or countably many impulses and also dynamic equations on time scales) is provided.
R Code for Hausdorff and Simplex Dispersion Orderings in the 2D Case

This paper proposes a software implementation using R of the Hausdorff and simplex dispersion orderings. A copy can be downloaded from http://www.uv.es/~ayala/software/fun-disp.R . The paper provides some examples using the functions exactHausdorff for the Hausdorff dispersion ordering and the function simplex for the simplex dispersion orderings. Some auxiliary functions are commented too.

Cost limitations might challenge the use of high-fidelity simulation as a teaching-learning method. This article presents the results of a Norwegian project including two simulation studies in which simulation teaching and learning were studied among students in the second year of a three-year bachelor nursing programme. The students were organised into small simulation groups with different roles; nurse, physician, family member and observer. Based on experiences in different roles, the students evaluated the simulation design characteristics and educational practices used in the simulation.
