First GPS-tracking of Cory’s shearwater in the Mediterranean Sea.
2010
Abstract The behaviour and ecology of seabirds such as albatrosses, petrels and shearwaters have been the subject of numerous studies, often employing the most recent technologies to track birds during their foraging trips. Until now, however, large oceanic species have been preferred for tracking studies because of the dimensions and weight of the devices available. New light-weight GPS (Global Positioning System) loggers (< 9 g) were used to track foraging trips of a medium-sized species, the Cory's shearwater, for the first time in the Mediterranean Sea. The tracks obtained showed that Mediterranean Cory's shearwaters alternatively used one of two different fishing areas. Various explana…
Biometrical and Biological Considerations on the Cory’s Shearwater Calonectris Diomedea
1986
Today the Mediterranean distribution of Cory’s Shearwaters is believed to be well known. New colonies may be discovered, but certainly the largest ones are known. Many data were published during the last ten years and we believe to have a satisfactory knowledge of their biology, though some problems, as the winter movements of each population, the first breeding age and the ratio immatures/adults are still to be examined carefully.
Les mythes: illo tempore de l’Histoire? La réactualisation des mythes grecs dans les films de Pier Paolo Pasolini
2015
The ghosts of Greek myths are omnipresent in the film works of Pier Paolo Pasolini. Moreover, as will be depicted later on, his first readings of Greek texts were a crucial moment for his creative path towards becoming a film director. As a starting point, the personal circumstances of Pasolini will be examined. The general problems of his contemporary society as well as those more particular to his native country, Italy, and to his own personal life all make their way into his work, transposed via myths, which are given a new meaning
La variedad de estas piezas rebela el deseo experimentador del autor Besides the introductory and informative function, prologues of Seneca’s tragedies fulfill a function in setting, so that recipients of these …
V-Belt Winding along Archimedean Spirals During the Variator Speed Ratio Shift
2010
Starting from a previous model for the shift mechanics of rubber belt variators, this lecture elaborates practical design formulas for the torque and the axial thrust making use of the very close resemblance of the belt path to a linear spiral of Archimedes along a large part of the arc of contact. In addition, as an alternative to the modern calculus tools, it is shown how the drive variables can be equally calculated applying some propositions of Archimedes’ classical treatise πeρί ‘eλίκων (On Spirals).

"Fixed Point Theorems for '?, ?'Contractive maps in Weak nonArchimedean Fuzzy Metric Spaces and Application"
2011
The present study introduce the notion of (ψ, ϕ)-Contractive maps in weak non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces to derive a common fixed point theorem which complements and extends the main theorems of [C.Vetro, Fixed points in weak non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces, Fuzzy Sets and System, 162 (2011), 84-90] and [D.Mihet, Fuzzy ψ-contractive mappings in non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces, Fuzzy Sets and System, 159 (2008) 739-744]. We support our result by establishing an application to product spaces.

Medea. Attualizzazioni di un mito nella letteratura tedesca fra ‘800 e ‘900
2018
Within the framework of political, social and cultural transformations of recent centuries, the way in which the figure of Medea has been represented in German-speaking countries has changed. This essay uses as its starting point the context of certain periods (from the late 18th to the end of the 20th century) in order to illustrate the main trends of the representation of the sourceress from Colchis. The result is a mixed picture, in which Medea became the victim of a state power with at times misogynist, at times xenophobic, and at times anti-Semitic characteristics until it was to become also a symbol of the unstoppable crisis of the Western world. However, for some limited periods, as …
