Stroke telemedicine is a counselling modality that enables care of stroke patients at remote departmental hospitals by specialists at stroke units in reference hospitals. The planning and implementation of a hub-and-spoke telestroke network are complicated. This paper describes the implementation plan of Telestroke in the Valencian Region, Spain. A stroke telemedicine network was installed in the Valencian Region connecting the departmental hospitals with stroke teams, to the 6 public reference hospitals with a stroke unit. A German registry for acute aortic dissection type A (GERAADA) was initiated by the Working Group for Aortic Surgery and Interventional Vascular Surgery of the German Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (GSTCVS) in July 2006. This web-based database was developed to record the data of patients who had undergone surgery for aortic dissection type A. Along with machine learning (ML), AI encompasses a wide range of approaches and technologies, including knowledge discovery and data mining methodologies, predictive analytics, advanced statistics for pattern recognition and neurocomputing. AI technologies and their expanding applications in diagnostics call for constant updates of knowledge and skills. In this commentary, we outline recent breakthroughs in paediatric pulmonology.
