Coordination abilities of N-methyl alkylaminomethane-1,1-diphosphonic acids towards zinc(II), magnesium(II) and calcium(II) metal ions. Equilibrium s…

2017

Abstract Complex-formation abilities of a series of N-methyl alkylaminomethane-1,1-diphosphonic acids (1–7) with a common tertiary nitrogen atom (CH3−N−R) bearing linear or branched alkyl, cycloheptyl or phenylalkyl R substituents towards zinc(II), magnesium(II) and calcium(II) in aqueous solution have been studied by means of pH-potentiometry, ESI-MS spectrometry, 1H NMR and 31P NMR methods. The obtained results indicate that in the all presented systems mononuclear protonated equimolar and bis complexes are formed. In acidic and neutral solution, the formation of the protonated dinuclear species has been confirmed. The comparative analysis of the potentiometric and NMR data reveal that th…

Preparation and structural characterization of organotin(IV) complexes with ligands containing a hetero {N} atom and a hydroxy group or hydroxy and c…

2005

AbstractTwenty-two n-butyltin(IV) and t-butyltin(IV) complexes of ligands containing an –OH (–C@O) group or –OH and –COOHgroups and an aromatic {N} donor atom were prepared by metathetical reactions. On the basis of the FT-IR and Mo¨ssbauer spec-troscopic data, molecular structures were assigned to these compounds. The binding sites of the ligands were identified by means ofFT-IR spectroscopic measurements, and it was found that in most cases the organotin(IV) moiety reacts with the phenolic form ofthese ligands. In the complexes with –OH and –COOH functions, the –COOH group is coordinated to the organotin(IV) centres in amonodentate manner. The 119 Sn Mo¨ssbauer and the FT-IR studies suppor…

Mpro-SARS-CoV-2 Inhibitors and Various Chemical Reactivity of 1-Bromo- and 1-Chloro-4-vinylbenzene in [3 + 2] Cycloaddition Reactions

2021

The regioselectvity and the mechanism of the (32CA) cycloadditions reactions of 1-bromo-4-vinylbenzene 1 and 1-chloro-4-vinylbenzene 2 with benzonitrile oxide 3 were investigated under the molecular electron density theory (MEDT) at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) computational level. Evaluation of the ELF reveals that these zwitterionic type (zw-type) 32CA reactions take place in a two-stage one-step mechanism. This MEDT study shows that the meta isoxazolines are kinetically and thermodynamically favored over the ortho ones, these 32CA reactions being completely regioselective, in agreement with experimental outcomes. In addition, the efficiency of isoxazolines against SARS-CoV-2 have been also in…

Pyrido[2’,3’:4,5]pyrrolo[2,1-d][1,2,3,5]tetrazine-4(3H)-ones, a new class of temozolomide heteroanalogues

2009

Twelve derivatives of new ring system pyrido[2’,3’:4,5]pyrrolo[2,1-d][1,2,3,5]tetrazine were prepared in good yields by reaction of 2-diazo-3-ethoxycarbonyl-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine with alkyl- or aryl-isocyanates. Nine derivatives, screened by the National Cancer Institute (Bethesda, MD) for the in vitro one dose primary anticancer assay against a panel of about 60 human tumor cell lines, showed no significant activity.

Hydrogenolysis of hydroxymatairesinol on Y derived catalysts: a computational study

2010

Hydrogenolysis of 7-hydroxymatairesinol (HMR) to matairesinol (MAT) occurs on palladium supported acidic catalysts. HMR has three stereochemical centres and naturally exists as a mixture of two diastereoisomers, namely RRR-HMR and SRR-HMR. The latter is significantly more reactive than the former, in the reaction above. In order to elucidate the hydrogenolysis mechanism, simple surface events involving HMR derivatives on aluminated faujasite (H-Y) fragments were simulated by quantum chemical calculations. The metallic function of a Pd/H-Y acidic catalyst was also mimicked by a minimal palladium cluster. Stereochemical evidences pointed already out that water β-elimination on the epimeric ce…

Unexpected Behavior of Enaminones: Interesting New Routes to 1,6-Naphthyridines, 2-Oxopyrrolidines and Pyrano[4,3,2-de][1,6]naphthyridines

2012

Reaction of enaminones 1a–d with 2-aminoprop-1-ene-1,1,3-tricarbonitrile (2) in the presence of AcOH/NH4OAc afforded 7-amino-5-oxo-5,6-dihydro-1,6-naphthyridine-8-carbonitrile derivatives 9a–d. On the other hand, 2-aminopyrano[4,3,2-de] [1,6]naphthyridine-3-carbonitriles 20a–c,e were the only obtained products from the reactions of 1a–d with 2 in the presence of AcOH/NaOAc, while 1d afforded [3,5-bis-(4-chloro-benzoyl)-phenyl]-(4-chloro-phenyl)-methanone 21 under the same condition. The reaction of 2 with diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate in the presence of AcOH/NH4OAc afforded (4-cyano-5-dicyanomethylene-2-oxo-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrol-3-yl)-acetic acid eth…

Recognition of oxovanadium(V) species and its separation from other metal species through selective complexation by some acyclic ligands

1998

Acyclic molecules possessing –OH (phenoxo and alkoxo type) groups and imine or amine moieties have been developed to sense the specific preference for VO3+ species. These molecules also showed a capability to quantitatively separate oxovanadium(V) species from a reaction mixture containing metal species of V, Mo, U, Fe, and Mn ions in solution. A cascade quantitative separation of VO3+ followed by cis–MoO2+2 followed by trans –UO2+2 species is demonstrated from their mixture. Synthesis and structural details of oxo-species of vanadium molybdenum and uranium are also discussed. Factors influencing the complexation of these molecules towards oxo metal species of V, Mo and U are also addressed.

Preparative and spectroscopic features of ferricenium tetrachloroferrate(III). Interconversion to diferricenium ?-oxo-bis[trichloroferrate(III)]

1985

Ferricenium tetrachloroferrate(III)(1), one of the more frequently cited ferricenium salts, has recently attracted biomedical interest because of its pronounced antineoplastic activity against Ehrlich ascites murine tumor. In this paper, synthetic methods are reinvestigated in an effort to prepare pure(1) free from a common contaminant, diferriceniumμ-oxo-bis(trichloroferrate)(3). The oxodiferrate, or mixtures of this salt with(1), can readily be converted into pure(1) under acidic conditions. Conversely, dimerization of(1) with participation of water to give the oxodiferrate(3) is brought about by recrystallization of the former from moist acetonitrile/methanol in the presence of base; thi…

Dual targeting of higher-order DNA structures by azacryptands induces DNA junction-mediated DNA damage in cancer cells

2021

Abstract DNA is intrinsically dynamic and folds transiently into alternative higher-order structures such as G-quadruplexes (G4s) and three-way DNA junctions (TWJs). G4s and TWJs can be stabilised by small molecules (ligands) that have high chemotherapeutic potential, either as standalone DNA damaging agents or combined in synthetic lethality strategies. While previous approaches have claimed to use ligands that specifically target either G4s or TWJs, we report here on a new approach in which ligands targeting both TWJs and G4s in vitro demonstrate cellular effects distinct from that of G4 ligands, and attributable to TWJ targeting. The DNA binding modes of these new, dual TWJ-/G4-ligands w…
