ResumenEn el presente artículo, se estudian los modelos más representativos de organización política de la comunidad islámica o Umma en la historia del pensamiento islámico. Como introducción al tema, se analiza el papel central que ocupa el concepto de Umma como eje vertebrador de las relaciones entre religión y política en el Islam. Posteriormente, se exponen las principales posiciones acerca del gobierno de la Umma, desde los tiempos del Profeta hasta la actualidad. José María López Piñero (Jose.M.Lopez-Pinero@uv.es) Se sintetizan muy brevemente los resultados de las investigaciones históricas que el autor inició hace más de cuatro décadas sobre los orígenes de los estudios en torno a la salud pública en la España renacentista. Sucesivamente se considera la función desempeñada por el poder real, desde la perspectiva de los orígenes del Estado moderno, la influencia del ambientalismo hipocrático, el mantenimiento para privilegiados de la higiene a nivel individual, los inicios de la higiene colectiva en relación con las epidemias de peste y las aportaciones sobre la asistencia médica condicionadas por el cambio de valores acerca de la pobreza.

The author of the article presents a phenomenon of terrorism in the Balkans throughout the 19th, 20th an 21st centuries. She highlights a thesis that specific phenomenon of terrorism in the region requires additional studies, mostly of heuristic nature. Among the types of Balkan terrorism there is terrorism connected to national and liberation movements and political terrorism. Mentalizing eye contact with a face on a video : Gaze direction does not influence autonomic arousal

Recent research has revealed enhanced autonomic and subjective responses to eye contact only when perceiving another live person. However, these enhanced responses to eye contact are abolished if the viewer believes that the other person is not able to look back at the viewer. We purported to investigate whether this “genuine” eye contact effect can be reproduced with pre‐recorded videos of stimulus persons. Public Administration is in an era of change. This paper studies one under-researched part of public administration, the executive arms of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs). These are referred to as International Executives (IEs) and provide a conceptual mapping and empirical illustrations of three important dynamics of IEs – intergovernmental, supranational and transgovernmental dynamics.
