CHIMERA: A BIM+GIS SYSTEM FOR CULTURAL HERITAGE

In the last years, many researches are conducted on systems for Cultural Heritage, trying to adapt BIM systems to CH needs; furthermore, the interest around the integration of BIM systems and GIS systems spreads. Chimera, presented in this paper, is the final product of about 8 years of research on this broad topic and has been specifically conceived for the realm of CH. Reconstruction of urban sites from photos

Abstract. This paper reports the results of an experiment that aims at the virtual reconstruction of a urban site that has been partially reshaped during the 20th century; the reconstruction process is based on period photos. The chosen case study is the eldest harbour of Palermo, named ‘Cala’; the site was bombed during World War II and new buildings took the place of the ruined ones. Two period photos, taken from an aircraft, document the buildings that were destroyed by bombs. 3D modelling of a historical building using close-range photogrammetry and remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS)

Abstract. The photogrammetric survey of architectural Cultural Heritage is a very useful and standard process in order to obtain accurate 3D data for the documentation and visualization of historical buildings. In particular, the integration of terrestrial close-range photogrammetry and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPASs) photogrammetry allows to create accurate and reliable 3D models of buildings and to monitor their state of conservation. From 1967 to 2005, many astrophotos have been taken with the Baldone Schmidt telescope (80cmx120cmx240cm). These photos have being archived in theInstituteofAstronomyof theUniversityofLatvia(IAU code 069, longitude 24.4041 E, latitude 56.7734 N, altitude103 m). There are over 22000 direct and 2300 spectral photos of different regions of the sky in this archive. There are also information on the photo materials type as well as the types of color filters used for phographiing the sky fields and objects. ON THE FON ASTROPLATE PROJECT ACCOMPLISHMENT

The plan of the photographic survey of thenorthern sky (FON) was proposed in 1976 in Golosiiv ob-servatory (now MAO NAS of Ukraine) by I. Kolchinskyand A. Onegina. The final project of the Compiled FONACcatalog (FON Astrographic Catalog) is based on the digitaldata of photographic plates exposed at four observatories.They are MAO NAS of Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine), Kitabastronomical observatory (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), Hissarastronomical observatory (Dushanbe, Tajikistan), and Bal-done observatory (Latvia)). Different compounds including toxic heavy metals ions have been used in various industrial branches for ages. Therefore, these compounds are nowadays often identified in the natural environment. Plants usually function like indirect transporters through which heavy metals, in the form of ions, infiltrate from the environment into the human and animals’ food chains.
