Abstract Compound CpMo( η 3 -C 3 H 5 ) 2 , 3, has been synthesized from CpMoCl 4 and four equivalents of allylmagnesium bromide. While the compound is stable in donor solvents at room temperature, warming in refluxing MeCN induces the formation of 1,5-hexadiene by a metal-mediated allyl-allyl coupling process. Treatment of 3 with Bu t NC at room temperature affords CpMo( η 3 -C 3 H 5 )(Bu t NC) 2 , 4. Gabor systems and almost periodic functions

Abstract Inspired by results of Kim and Ron, given a Gabor frame in L 2 ( R ) , we determine a non-countable generalized frame for the non-separable space AP 2 ( R ) of the Besicovic almost periodic functions. Gabor type frames for suitable separable subspaces of AP 2 ( R ) are constructed. We show furthermore that Bessel-type estimates hold for the AP norm with respect to a countable Gabor system using suitable almost periodic norms of sequences.

A marching-on in time meshless kernel based solver for full-wave electromagnetic simulation

A meshless particle method based on an unconditionally stable time domain numerical scheme, oriented to electromagnetic transient simulations, is presented. The proposed scheme improves the smoothed particle electromagnetics method, already developed by the authors. The time stepping is approached by using the alternating directions implicit finite difference scheme, in a leapfrog way. The proposed formulation is used in order to efficiently overcome the stability relation constraint of explicit schemes. In this paper, the numerical analysis on an air-core pulsed alternator is presented. Since compulsators are characterized by very fast electromechanical transients, their accurate analysis requires strong coupling between the equations governing the electrical and the mechanical behaviors. The device is investigated by using a dedicated numerical code capable to take into account eddy currents, compensating windings, as well as the excitation/control circuits. Urban poverty arises from the uneven distribution of poor populations across neighborhoods of a city. We study the trend and drivers of urban poverty across American cities over the last 40 years. To do so, we resort to a family of urban poverty indices that account for features of incidence, distribution, and segregation of poverty across census tracts. Compared to the universally-adopted concentrated poverty index, these measures have a solid normative background. We use tract-level data to assess the extent to which demographics, housing, education, employment, and income distribution affect levels and changes in urban poverty.
