Global, National, or Market? Emerging REDD+ Governance Practices in Mozambique and Tanzania

This article examines emerging governance practices in the REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) initiative. We examine three different general governance practices (neoliberal, post-national, and government-led practices) that have been applied in the interaction between international organizations and two REDD target countries: Mozambique and Tanzania. In these countries, we find that emerging REDD+ governance practices are a mixture of international organizations’ procedural practices and the target country’s established governance practices, whereas neoliberal practices are weakly expressed. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, mitä alakouluikäiset lapset leikkivät metsässä ja mitä tarjoumia metsä antaa leikille. Tutkimusaineistona oli 66 alakouluikäisen lapsen piirrosta ja kirjallista leikkikuvausta. Aineisto kerättiin alakoulussa tutkijoiden suunnitteleman ja toteuttaman kuvataidetyöpajan yhteydessä. Aineisto analysoitiin teemoittele-malla piirrosten ja sanallisten kuvausten aiheet. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin met-sän tarkasteluun leikin kannalta James Gibsonilta peräisin olevaa ja Marketta Kytän soveltamaa tarjouman käsitettä. Metsäteollisuuden deindustrialisaatio on aiheuttanut uudelleen rakenteistumista, mikä vaikuttaa pieniin asutuskeskuksiin jotka aiemmin ovat olleet riippuvaisia paperi- ja selluloosatehtaista. Pro gradu –työssäni olen kuvaillut ja analysoinut tapoja joilla Mänttä, pieni paperiteollisuuskaupunki, on selvinnyt suurista muutoksista. Mänttä on vastannut muutoksiin pyrkimällä investoimaan kulttuuriin ja taiteeseen. Mänttä pyrkii nykyään profiloitumaan ”taidekaupunkina”, sillä siellä järjestetään lukuisia taidenäyttelyitä ja kulttuuritapahtumia. Musculoskeletal disorders and disability among forest industry workers in lower and higher sickness absence groups: a case-control study

Background: Musculoskeletal wellbeing and disorders and explanatory factors were investigated among forest industry employees. Methods: A new positive approach to maintenance of working ability focuses on being present at work. 140 individuals with low sickness absence (≤1.5% in hours during the past 6.5 years) and 140 controls with higher sickness absence (>1.5%), randomly selected from the source population (n = 636) in workplace clusters (n = 5), were studied.
