Cognitive emotion regulation strategies have been proposed as an explanation for transdiagnostic vulnerability to emotional disorders, which are highly prevalent in the primary care setting. A case study on Finnish pupils' mathematical thinking: Problem solving and view of mathematics

International audience; In this article, the mathematical thinking of four Finnish pupils is reported using two temporally different data sets: problem-solving processes and view of mathematics. While the pupils seem similar on the surface level (high achievers, successful problem solvers, enjoy mathematics, motivated to learn mathematics), a closer look at their problem-solving processes and view of mathematics reveal very different strengths and weaknesses in their mathematical thinking. Most of the similarities in this study were found in individual pupils' problem-solving processes and view of mathematics.

The aim of the present study was to analyze teachers' written self-reflections after implementation of a social-emotional learning program, which was recently developed specifically for the sociocultural context of Latvia. The goal of the analysis was to examine how teachers reflect upon their own strengths and weaknesses in implementing the program. Deficits in cognition, metacognition and social cognition have been reported to be correlated, and indeed predictors, of functional outcome or level of disability. Psychotic patients tend to present lower IQ and show impairment in specific cognitive domains, and in social cognition, than controls. There is an emerging empirical evidence that patients with eating disorders have severe metacognitive concerns, i.e. ability to reflect on mental states. This single-case study aims to explore the relationship between limited metacognition and eating symptoms in six patients who attended a long-term group treatment. Assessing mentalization in psychotherapy: first validation of the Mentalization Imbalances Scale

The aim of this study was to provide data on the preliminary validation of a clinician-report multidimensional assessment measure of mentalization (Mentalization Imbalances Scale, MIS). A random national sample of psychotherapists (N=190) completed the MIS to identify mentalization imbalances, and the Personality Disorder Checklist to assess the personality disorders (PDs) of randomly selected patients currently in their care.
