Integrated multimedia publishing: combining TV and newspaper content on personal channels

Abstract Fast networks enable the delivery of TV and newspaper content over an Internet connection. This enables new types of integrated publications that include features from both media. The IMU system, described in this paper, automatically integrates newspaper and TV content into a continuously updated World Wide Web-multimedia publication. An active proxy server pursues the integration and delivers the publication through an ATM fibre link to fast networks, such as the bi-directional cable TV network and the ADSL telephone network, providing near-TV quality. The Corpus of Finnish Sign Language

This paper presents the Corpus of Finnish Sign Language(Corpus FinSL), a structured and annotated collection of Finnish Sign Language (FinSL) videos published in May 2019 in FIN-CLARIN's Language Bank of Finland. The corpus is divided into two subcorpora, one of which comprises elicited narratives and the other conversations. All of the FinSL material has been annotated using ELAN and the lexical database Finnish Signbank. Basic annotation includes ID-glosses and translations into Finnish. Finland has set numeric goals for the development of open access. However, at the moment, no system is available by which this development could be monitored. Poor quality in the metadata records in universities’ research information databases prevents metadata-based analysis of open access publishing progress. Development of a Native Cross-Platform iRODS GUI Client

This paper describes activities on the research IT infrastructure development project at the University of Jyväskylä. The main contribution is a cross-platform iRODS client application with a rich graphical user interface. The client application is fully native and builds from a single C++ codebase on all of the platforms on which iRODS 4.0 is supported.
