Fluorinated heterocyclic compounds. A photochemical synthesis of 3-amino-5-perfluoroaryl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles

2001

Abstract A photochemical methodology for the synthesis of 3-amino- (or 3- N -substituted amino) 5-pentafluorophenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles is reported. Irradiation of 3-pentafluorobenzoylamino-4-methyl-1,2,5-oxadiazole (Furazan) at 254 nm in methanol and in the presence of ammonia, primary or secondary aliphatic amines produces 3-amino-, 3-( N -alkylamino)-, 3-( N , N -dialkylamino)-5-pentafluorophenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles. The photoreaction follows the fragmentation pattern of the furazan ring with the extrusion of acetonitrile and the formation of a counterpart fragment which the nitrogen nucleophile will capture. Depending on the nature of the reagent, displacement of a fluoride anion at the C(5…

The role of distannoxanes in the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from carbon dioxide

2003

Abstract The synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of 1,3-dimethoxytetrabutyldistannoxane were investigated in connection to the mechanism of the selective synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from CO2 and methanol. A new distannoxane, 1-methoxy-3-methylcarbonatotetrabutyldistannoxane, resulting from a 1:1 adduct with CO2 was isolated and characterised by volumetry, multinuclear NMR and IR spectroscopies. When this compound was submitted to 20 MPa of CO2 at 423 K in toluene no dimethyl carbonate was formed, conversely to dibutyldimethoxystannane. However, when methanol was the solvent, dimethyl carbonate was selectively produced. A promoting effect of Si(OCH3)4 was evidenced through methox…

The conformational polymorphism and weak interactions in solid state structures of ten new monomeric and dimeric substituted dibenzyldimethylammonium…

2009

In this study, ten new dibenzyldimethyl/ethyl ammonium chloridopalladate(II) compounds with five different cations and two anions have been synthesized and a simple method for a synthesis, in which hydrochloric acid solutions are used, has been described. Furthermore, twelve structures including two polymorphs have been obtained from hydrochloric and methanol/acetonitrile solutions. The anion–cation and cation–cation interactions of the synthesized compounds have been studied mainly by means of single X-ray diffraction in order to study the effects of varying either the anion or the cations in these QA2PdCl4 and QA2Pd2Cl6 salts. The results indicate that the effects of intermolecular cation…

Dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes with tri- and tetradentate aminobis(phenolate)s

2005

Abstract The reactions of tridentate ligands, bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylbenzyl)methylamine (H2ONOMe) and bis(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butyl-5-methylbenzyl)methylamine (H2ONOtBu) with [MoO2(acac)2] (1) in methanol lead to the precipitation of monomeric dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes [MoO2(ONOMe)(MeOH)] · MeOH (2a) and [MoO2(ONOtBu)(MeOH)] · MeOH (2b), respectively. Identical reactions in acetonitrile provide dimeric complexes [Mo2O2(μ-O)2(ONOMe)2] (3a) and [Mo2O2(μ-O)2(ONOtBu)2] (3b). The reactions of 1 with tetradentate ligands, N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylbenzyl)-N,N′-dimethylethane-1,2-diamine (H2ONNOMe) and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butylbenzyl)-N,N′-dimethylethane-1,2-diamine (H2ONNOtBu)…

Microscale synthesis of phosphatidyl-[3H]choline from 1,2-diacylglycerol. Assessment of isomerization by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chrom…

1995

The synthesis of rac-1-palmitoyl-2-oleoylglycero-3-phospho-[3H]choline of high specific activity was carried out on a microscale by making 7 mumol of rac-1-palmitoyl-2-oleoylglycerol react first with an equimolar amount of POCl3 and then of [3H]choline. After purification by thin-layer chromatography and normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatography and normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), the yield of the synthesis of [3H]phosphatidylcholine (120 microCi/mumol) was 22%. rac-1-Palmitoyl-2-oleoylglycerol was purified before use by reversed-phase HPLC under conditions which were nonisomerizing and allowed the separation of 1,2- and 1,3-isomers of diacylglycerol. E…

Visible-light driven oxidation of gaseous aliphatic alcohols to the corresponding carbonyls via TiO2 sensitized by a perylene derivative

2013

Sensitized P25 TiO2 was prepared by wet impregnation with a home-prepared perylene dye, i.e., N,N?-bis(2-(1- piperazino)ethyl)-3,4,9,10-perylene-tetracarboxylic acid diimide dichloride (PZPER). Energy levels of PZPER were found to be compatible with those of TiO2 allowing fast electron transfer. The obtained catalyst has been characterized and used in the gas-phase partial oxidation of aliphatic primary and secondary alcohols, i.e., methanol, ethanol, and 2- propanol. The reaction was carried out under cut-off (?> 400 nm) simulated solar radiation in O2 atmosphere. The perylene derivative allowed a good absorbance of visible radiation thanks to its low optical energy gap (2.6 eV) which was …

Multi-residue determination of organic micro-pollutants in river sediment by stir-disc solid phase extraction based on oxidized buckypaper

2020

This paper describes a procedure for the isolation of 20 organic micro-pollutants among pesticides, drugs, recreational drugs, flame retardants from river sediments. After a solid-liquid extraction with a methanol:water (50:50, v/v) solution, the supernatant was diluted with water and cleaned up by stir-disc solid-phase extraction (SPE). The disc was made of buckypaper, a self-supporting entangled assembly of carbon nanotubes, which was used as a highly porous, two-sided, sorbent membrane. In the preliminary activation step, the membrane was oxidised for 2-hours with nitric acid to extend its extraction capability also to more polar compounds. All extracts were analysed by ultra-high-perfor…

Performance of short-chain alcohols versus acetonitrile in the surfactant-mediated reversed-phase liquid chromatographic separation of β-blockers

2010

Organic solvents are traditionally added to micellar mobile phases to achieve adequate retention times and peak profiles, in a chromatographic mode which has been called micellar liquid chromatography (MLC). The organic solvent content is limited to preserve the formation of micelles. However, at increasing organic solvent contents, the transition to a situation where micelles do not exist is gradual. Also, there is no reason to neglect the potentiality of mobile phases containing only surfactant monomers instead of micelles (high submicellar chromatography, HSC). This is demonstrated here for the analysis of β-blockers. The performance of four organic solvents (methanol, ethanol, 1-propano…

An approach to evaluate the information in chromatographic fingerprints: Application to the optimisation of the extraction and conservation condition…

2015

A new approach is reported for high-performance liquid chromatography to measure the level of information in fingerprints. For this purpose, the concept of peak prominence, which is the protruding part of each visible peak with regard to the valleys that delimit it, was used. The peaks in the fingerprints are ranked according to the areas of the peak prominences, and a threshold is established to discriminate between the significant peaks and those that are irreproducible. The approach was applied to evaluate the impact of several extraction conditions (solvent nature and composition, time and temperature of the treatment, amount of sample, and time and temperature of conservation of the ex…

Effect of tetrahydrofuran on the conductance and ion-pairing of hydrogen chloride in wet and dry methanol mixtures

1995

The molar conductance of dilute solutions of HCl in wet (68.5% methanol + 31.5% tetrahydrofurane mixtures at 25°C have been measured. The data were analyzed using the Fuoss-Hsia equation to calculate the infinite dilution molar conductances and association constants. The trend of the limiting conductances in these mixtures as a function of the water content shows, once more, the peculiar minimum due to the anomalous proton conductance mechanism. From these data the limiting molar conductance in the anhydrous binary solvent system was evaluated. The percentage excess proton mobility with respect to potassium ion has also been determined. All these data are compared to those found in a binary…
