Synthesis and evaluation of tritium labelled 10-methylgalanthamine iodide: a novel compound to examine the mechanism of interaction of galanthamine d…
2003
Summary A new promising galanthamine derivative, 10-[ 3 H]methylgalanthamine iodide, was synthesized for binding studies to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors expressed in Torpedo electric ray electroplaques. Galanthamine was reacted with [ 3 H]methyl iodide to yield 10-[ 3 H]methylgalanthamine iodide with a radiochemical yield of >70% and a specific activity of 32 Ci/mmol after purification via solid phase extraction. To test the ligand properties of the radioligand, calcium imaging and electrophysiology of the non-radioactive analogue were performed to obtain an EC50 of 270 nM, a Hill coefficient of 1.9 and the induced cell current. Stereoselective reactions of a thioester butanediacetal with various electrophiles
2014
Abstract The reactions of the lithium enolate of S -ethyl (2 R ,5 R ,6 R )-5,6-dimethoxy-5,6-dimethyl-[1,4]-dioxane-2-carbothioate were investigated in the presence or absence of hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA). Fluorination gave a single isomer with a much better yield than for the corresponding methyl ester. Alkylation with alkyl halides strongly depended upon their structure. Without HMPA, only methyl iodide reacted with moderate yield and gave a single isomer. In the presence of HMPA, all of the alkyl halides reacted almost quantitatively (81–98% yield) with moderate stereoselectivity and preferentially gave products with the alkyl chain attached at the equatorial position. The silyl eno…
Iodine containing species in the remote marine boundary layer: A link to oceanic phytoplankton
2011
[1] Iodine containing species have been measured in the particle phase (PM2.5) and the gas phase during a ship campaign between January and February 2007 in the South Atlantic marine boundary layer (MBL). Methyl iodide (CH3I) in the gas phase and soluble iodine species, i.e. iodide, iodate and an unidentified organic iodine species (UOI), in PM2.5 were measured. Temporal variations of gaseous and particulate iodine species were investigated. The exposure of the sampled air masses to phytoplankton along the back-trajectories was studied using a lagrangian transport model and satellite observations of oceanic chlorophyll-a concentration. Significant correlations were found between the concent…
The reaction of 1,4-bis(1-phenylvinyl)benzene (1) with lithium in THF yielding predomaintly the dimeric α,ω-diene dianion 3 is discussed. The products 4, 6, and 7 resulting from the reaction of the dianion 3 with methanol, carbon dioxide and methyl iodide are characterized by IR, NMR and mass spectra.
Firsts lysidinyl- and lysidinium-triphosphines Pd(II) complexes
2010
International audience; The preparation of first lysidinyl-triphosphine ligand (named Triphosline) is described in three steps which are first a Michael type addition of imidazolidine (or lysidine) to diethylvinylphosphonate, second a phosphonate reduction with LiAlH4 and third an anti-Markovnikov radical addition of the primary phosphine to diphenylvinylphosphine. The Triphosline behaves as a tridentate P-coordinating ligand in palladium(II) complexes. The dangling lysidine function is then cleanly and totally alkylated by methyl iodide to lead to a new kind of lysidinium-triphosphine complexes. Subsequent anion exchange with TlPF6 affords the first example of a chloride free lysidinium-tr…
