However, as-deposited, amorphous alumina is susceptible to chemical attack and corrosion during manufacturing and field-use. On the contrary, crystalline Al 2 O 3 is resistant against aggressive chemical treatments and corrosion. Here, high-temperature treatments in N 2 , H 2 , and vacuum were used to crystallize alumina which exhibited different crystalline phases. Resum: Aquest article se centra en l'estudi del tractament de l'erotisme en algunes de les composicions pòetiques de Francesc Fontanella (1622-1682/3). El treball estudia quinze epístoles literàries que l'autor va dedicar a les monges dels convents dels Àngels i de Jerusalem de Barcelona durant la dècada de 1640. Es divideix en dues parts; a la primera s'identifiquen les composicions objecte d'estudi, es presenten breument i s'aclareixen alguns problemes relacionats amb la seva transmissió. AIM To analyse in vitro changes in ion release and biological properties of Endocem-MTA (Maruchi, Wonju, Korea) and NeoMTA-Plus (Avalon Biomed Inc, Bradenton, FL, USA) exposed to acidic or neutral environment on human dental periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs). METHODOLOGY Cell viability and wound healing assays were performed using eluates of each material. Experimental Investigation for Local Tank Inflow Model

In the present paper the effect of private roof tanks and of the float valve characteristics on apparent losses due to water meter errors was investigated via an experimental study. The tests were carried out at the Environmental Hydraulic Laboratory of the University of Enna (Italy), on a high-density polyethylene (HDPE 100 PN16) looped distribution network. The experimental results showed that network pressure plays an important role in the characterisation of the floating ball valve emitter law, but the tank operating condition is the most relevant aspect to be considered mainly for water meter error evaluation. Electrically induced deformation of giant liposomes monitored by thickness shear mode resonators.

Thickness shear mode resonators are capable of registering small changes in the thickness and viscoelastic properties of ultrathin films attached to their surface. It was found that it is possible to monitor the deformation of surface-bound giant liposomes by applying an electric field with small amplitudes. Changes in the apparent height of attached vesicles in the nanometer range were easily detected as a function of lipid composition. Increasing the bending modulus by adding cholesterol results in a significantly reduced deformation from 16.8 nm (5% cholesterol) down to 3.2 nm (20% cholesterol), rendering this new method a robust and sensitive tool to detect the bending elasticity of lip…

Greek Marschanapaste were first divided into dimeters by Alexandrian philologists. This division (that reflects a syntactical tendency) influenced Roman dramatists deeply. Plautus composed real anapaestic dimeters sometimes ordering them as a κατὰ στίχον series, sometimes (and more frequently) coupling them as septenarii or octonarii, but he did not compose κατὰ σύστηµα series (as scholars generally suppose) and most of these series are more conveniently interpreted as octonarii mixed with septenarii.
