Le varianti A1 e A2 della ?-caseina non hanno un effetto significativo sul microbiota del latteThe A1 and A2 ?-casein variants have not impact on mil…

2020

Objective: Milk is composed by a complex microbiota which can be influenced by numerous factors such as the season, the diet, the type of litter, the facility. As well, the animal's genotype can affect the composition of the milk microbiota. In milk, ?-casein is characterized by a high-level of polymorphism. The aim of this study was to verify if A1 and A2 ?-casein variants could in- fluence the milk microbioma. Materials and methods: Thirty Holstein cows were genotyped for ?-casein locus and divided into three groups. In two different sea- sons, milk samples (individual and bulk tank for each experi- mental group) and mozzarella cheese were collected separately from each group. Bacterial D…

Min-Type Control Strategy of a DC-DC Synchronous Boost Converter

2019

International audience; This paper presents the analysis and design of a min-type strategy to control a synchronous boost converter in continuous conduction mode. The strategy uses a nonlinear switching surface to establish the change of topology in the converter and is analyzed by means of a sliding-mode control approach. Subsequently, the min-type strategy is modified by a hybrid control formulation, which introduces a hysteresis width and a dwell-time to obtain a finite switching frequency in the start-up and steady-state respectively. The hybrid control formulation is implemented digitally by means of a microprocessor which processes the samples of inductor current and capacitor voltage…

Decomposition rate and biochemical fate of carbon from natural polymers and microplastics in boreal lakes

2022

Microbial mineralization of organic compounds is essential for carbon recycling in food webs. Microbes can decompose terrestrial recalcitrant and semi-recalcitrant polymers such as lignin and cellulose, which are precursors for humus formation. In addition to naturally occurring recalcitrant substrates, microplastics have been found in various aquatic environments. However, microbial utilization of lignin, hemicellulose, and microplastics as carbon sources in freshwaters and their biochemical fate and mineralization rate in freshwaters is poorly understood. To fill this knowledge gap, we investigated the biochemical fate and mineralization rates of several natural and synthetic polymer-deri…

Mobilities and the network of personal technologies: Refining the understanding of mobility structure

2017

Our ambition here is to refine the various typologies that compose the mobility structure. We aim to complement the work done by Urry and investigate the role played in the structure of mobility by what we call the “network of personal technologies”. Our new model consists of four different levels: macro-mobilities, micro-mobilities, media mobility and disembodied mobilities. By “macro-mobilities,” we refer to the actions which imply consistent physical displacement, such as travels, tours and commuting. By “micro-mobilities,” we mean small-scale displacements, including bodily movements and emotions. With moving media, we refer both to the new mobility provided by the smartphone to the tra…

On the volumetric response of a compacted clay subjected to wetting and drying cycles

2009

Experimental evidence on the volumetric response of a compacted clay was collected in controlled suction oedometric tests, with the aim to assess the volumetric response of this soil when subjected to wetting and drying cycles. The overall soil behaviour seems mainly to depend on the double structural arrangement observed in the compacted specimens. Selected results are presented and discussed focusing on the influence of the stress history on the volumetric response. Test results are simulated by a double-structure suction-dependent elasto-plastic constitutive model, in which the mechanical response is related to micro and macrostructural deformations and their mutual interactions. The pro…

Identification et caractérisation de candidats d’origine naturelle à action herbicide pour contrôler les adventices

2016

EASPEIPMGESTADAGROSUPINRA; The use of herbicides to control weeds is very common. However, some herbicides are both environmentally detrimental and human unhealthy. The use of microorganisms acting as natural herbicide could be an alternative control method. Symptomatic weeds will be collected in field. Microorganisms will be isolated from symptomatic weeds, purified, identified and inoculated on weeds to confirm Koch’s postulates. The identified pathogenic microorganisms will be tested against a selection of weeds and crops to characterize the host range and the specificity of these microorganisms. In parallel, the diversity of endophytic microorganisms of symptomatic weeds will be charact…

Chemical-Based Methodologies to Extend the Shelf Life of Fresh Fish—A Review

2021

Due to its characteristics, fresh fish is a highly perishable food with a very short shelf-life under refrigeration. Several methods have been introduced to slow down its deterioration, such as by means of oxygen depletion of the food package (vacuum packaging), or by changing the natural atmosphere that is in contact with the fresh fish (modified atmosphere packaging), or by the use of chemicals generally recognized as safe: such compounds can be directly applied (by dipping or spraying) or incorporated into packaging materials and slowly migrate to the product, exerting a hurdle effect against microbial development and lipid oxidation (active packaging). This review aims to cover the most…
