Sublimable Single Ion Magnets Based on Lanthanoid Quinolinate Complexes: The Role of Intermolecular Interactions on Their Thermal Stability

We report the design, preparation, and characterization of two families of thermally robust coordination complexes based on lanthanoid quinolinate compounds: [Ln(5,7-Br2q)4]− and [Ln(5,7-ClIq)4]−, where q = 8-hydroquinolinate anion and Ln = DyIII, TbIII, ErIII, and HoIII. The sodium salt of [Dy(5,7-Br2q)4]− decomposes upon sublimation, whereas the sodium salt of [Dy(5,7- ClIq)4]−, which displays subtly different crystalline interactions, is sublimable under gentle conditions. The resulting film presents low roughness with high coverage, and the molecular integrity of the coordination complex is verified through AFM, MALDI-TOF, FT-IR, and microanalysis. <title>Holographic recording in polymer composites of organic photochromes and chalcogenides</title>

Recently a number of organic and inorganic materials have been studied for direct surface-relief formation during the exposure process by a light or e-beam. It is very promising for practical application enabling the possibility to simplify the surface-relief formation technology. In this report the method of preparation of thin polymer-chalcogenide and polymer-azobenzene composite films is described, and some features of photoinduced changes of optical properties and holographic recording of these materials are studied. Sequential identification of organic dyes using the voltammetry of microparticles approach

An electrochemical method for identifying indigoid, anthraquinonic, naphtoquinonic, flavonoid, pyrone, pyran, and other related dyes in microsamples from works of art is reported using the voltammetry of microparticles methodology. Products of solid state oxidation/reduction of dyes form a layer on the lateral faces of the dye crystals as suggested by ATR-FTIR and AFM data. This method is based on the sequential application of oxidative and reductive constant-potential polarization steps coupled with the record of square wave voltammograms to solid microsamples of dyes in contact with aqueous electrolytes.

Electrochemical Characterization of Corrosion Products in Leaded Bronze Sculptures Considering Ohmic Drop Effects on Tafel Analysis

[EN] The characterization of corrosion products in leaded bronze based on the voltammetry of immobilized particles methodology is described. Voltammetric data, supported by Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (FESEM-EDX) and scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) allow the identification of copper and lead corrosion materials. The mutual influence of such products is modeled upon considering uncompensated ohmic drops in the Tafel analysis of the rising portion of the respective voltammetric signals for their electrochemical reduction.

Adolescence is a transitional period with many developmental tasks. The adolescents need to resolve the specific question of career choice and establishing authentic friendships. Transition to adulthood is often challenging to the adolescents with special education needs. Improvisational psychodynamic music therapy (IPMT) has been demonstrated by Erkkilä et al. (2011) to be effective in the treatment for people suffering from depression. For the purpose of a mixed methods research design all musical improvisations have been captured electronically, the therapist’s notes have been standardized, and the sessions have been recorded and saved. Furthermore, the research team of the university of Jyväskylä has developed a computational analysis software, called Music Therapy Toolbox (MTTB). Clinical, Microscopic and Ultrastructural Findings in a Case of Short Anagen Syndrome

Short anagen syndrome is an uncommon and recently described disease characterized by many telogen hairs and short maximum hair length. We report here the case of a 3-year-old girl whose short, sparse, fine hair since birth was consistent with short anagen syndrome. X-ray microanalysis demonstrated normal composition of the main bioelements of her hairs.

Translation as a Multimodal Negotiation Process

The research presented in this paper aims to render more visible the negotiation process of beginners in German as a foreign language (level A1 and A2) at university, while they translate previously simplified texts from Italian into German using Google Translator. The study belongs in the field of classroom research focusing on the learner´s use of online resources during translating activities. The approach used for the empirical analysis is a multimodal method which is exemplified by analysis of a video sequence. The paper then discusses and evaluates the value of Google Translator as a teaching aid in foreign language classes.
