Enzymatic Formation of Raucaffricine, the Major Indole Alkaloid ofRauwolfia serpentinaCell-Suspension Cultures
1991
The major alkaloid from Rauwolfia serpentina cell-suspension cultures, the glucoalkaloid raucaffricine (2), was enzymatically formed from vomilenine (1) and UDPG in presence of microsomal-bound enzyme. This glucosyltransferase exhibits a relatively high substrate specificity with strong preference for 1 and UDPG. The apparent Km values for 1 and UDPG were 40 μM and 0.8 mM, respectively, for raucaffricine formation. Optimum transferase activity was observed at 50° and pH 6.3. The taxonomic distribution of this enzyme seems to be very limited because transferase can he exclusively detected in raucaffricine-producing plant cells.
Enzymatic Biosynthesis of Vomilenine, a Key Intermediate of the Ajmaline Pathway, Catalyzed by a Novel Cytochrome P 450-Dependent Enzyme from Plant C…
1995
Abstract Microsomal preparations from Rauwolfia serpentina Benth. cell suspension cultures catalyze a key step in the biosynthesis of ajmaline -the enzymatic hydroxylation of the indole alkaloid vinorine at the allylic C-21 resulting in vomilenine. Vomilenine is an important branch-point intermediate, leading not only to ajmaline but also to several side reactions of the biosynthetic pathway to ajmaline. The investigation of the taxonomical distribution of the enzyme indicated that vinorine hydroxylase is exclusively present in ajmaline-producing plant cells. The novel enzyme is strictly dependent on NADPH2 and O2 and can be inhibited by typical cytochrome P450 inhibitors such as cytochrom…
A Carbohydrate-Based Julia–Kocienski Reagent for Syntheses of Chain-Extended and C-Linked Saccharides
2014
The carbohydrate-derived Julia–Kocienski reagent 2-{[(3aS,4S,6R,6aR)-6-methoxy-2,2-dimethyltetrahydrofuro[3,4-d][1,3]dioxol-4-yl]methylsulfonyl}-1,3-benzothiazole (6) was prepared from d -ribose and investigated in the eponymous olefination. The base-promoted generation of the Julia anion induced a rearrangement to the corresponding l -lyxose epimer 2-{[(3aS,4R,6R,6aR)-6-methoxy-2,2-dimethyltetrahydrofuro[3,4-d][1,3]dioxol-4-yl]methylsulfonyl}-1,3-benzothiazole (12), which reacted readily with aldehydes and with a gluconolactone. The latter reaction furnished an exo-glycal-linked C-diglycoside.
Volatility transmission in the CO<inf>2</inf> and energy markets
2009
The main consequence of the launch, in 2005, of the European Union Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) has been the establishment of a price for carbon emissions. Thus, major energy producers in Europe are now aware of the impact of their polluting activities. The interest in analysing the carbon markets from a financial point of view has exponentially increased since the launch of the EU ETS. However, no research articles have focused their attention on the volatility transmission between CO 2 and energy markets. The aim of this paper is to fill this gap in the literature. Specifically, our particular interest is to examine whether or not conditional volatility is transmitted across those mar…
Transamidation reactions of 2-(2-sulfonylguanidino)acetamides
2007
Abstract The reactivity of a series of sulfonylguanidinoacetamides 2A–E towards amines is reported. Guanidinoacetamides 2A–C, containing the arylsulfonylimino moiety, undergo a facile transamidation to give substituted carboxamides 4A–C, through the imidazolidinone intermediate 3. Acetamide 2D, having a methanesulfonylimino substituent, affords the imidazolidinone 3D and no transamidated carboxamides 4 are detected. In the case of guanidinoacetamide 2E, with a p-nitrobenzenesulfonylimino substituent, a Smiles rearrangement was observed.
Teacher smiles as an interactional and pedagogical resource in the classroom
2020
In classroom settings, laughter and smiles are resources for action that are available to both teachers and students. Recent interactional studies have documented how students use these resources to deal with trouble of various kind, but less is known about the sequential and activity contexts of teachers’ laughter-relevant practices, as well as their pedagogical functions. We use multimodal conversation analysis (CA) to investigate the interactional unfolding and pedagogical orientations of teacher smiles during instructional IRE (initiation-response-evaluation) sequences in a corpus of 37 bilingual lessons collected in schools in Finland and Spain. In analysing the focal smiles, we pay at…
Logistyka ostatniej mili jako najdroższy odcinek łańcucha dostaw
2022
Last mile logistics is considered the most expensive part of the supply chain. This is due to the high cost of deliveries related to the costs of organizing the transport of small parcels to individual customers, including the costs of fuel, vehicle operation and couriers. Considering the growing popularity of e-commerce among citizens, the growing problem of the last mile of deliveries should be analysed. The study focuses on the analysis of the literature on the subject, as well as on the existing or possible solutions to issues related to deliveries to the end customer. The main aim of the study is to present the proposed solutions to the last mile problem in the light of possible benefi…
Experimental study of $^{100}$Tc $\beta$ decay with total absorption $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy
2017
International audience; The β decay of Tc100 has been studied by using the total absorption γ-ray spectroscopy technique at the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line facility in Jyväskylä. In this work the new Decay Total Absorption γ-ray Spectrometer in coincidence with a cylindrical plastic β detector has been employed. The β intensity to the ground state obtained from the analysis is in good agreement with previous high-resolution measurements. However, differences in the feeding to the first-excited state as well as weak feeding to a new level at high excitation energy have been deduced from this experiment. Theoretical calculations performed in the quasiparticle random-phase approximatio…
Milenijne dzieło pojednania prymasa kard. Stefana Wyszyńskiego
2016
To wielki program odnowy Kościoła i narodu. Dotyczyło wszystkich dziedzin życia kościelnego i społecznego…
