Extrapolation with a parallel splitting method is discussed. The parallel splitting method reduces a multidimensional problem into independent one-dimensional problems and can improve the convergence order of space variables to an order as high as the regularity of the solution permits. Therefore, in order to match the convergence order of the space variables, a high order method should also be used for the time integration. This paper considers the Euclidean variant of the optimal communciation spanning tree (OCST) problem. Researches have analyzed the structure of the problem and found that high quality solutions prefer edges of low cost. Further, edges pointing to the center of the network are more likely to be included in good solutions. We add to the literature and provide additional insights into the structure of the OCST problem. Therefore, we investigate properies of the whole tree, such as node degrees and the Wiener index. The results reveal that optimal solutions are structured in a star-like manner. Traffic and road transport conditions are strongly influenced by the decisions of drivers. The more information they receive, the better decisions may be taken about their behavior. This is especially important in the transport of goods, since drivers are subject to traffic laws about maximum driving time and minimum time rest. In this paper a multi-agent system for negotiated management of parking spaces in road rest areas is presented. This system dynamically adapts itself to the preferences and needs of the drivers of goods about parking requests. This study presents the results of research carried out on a Sicilian wine farm in order to demonstrat e the economic convenience of the mechanized harvest. After the determination of the minimum optimal farm size that justifies the introduction of grape harve ster in the farm, it has been estimated production cost and the relative profitability of two wine grape cultiv ars (Chardonnay and Nero d’Avola), comparing three hypotheses of harvest: manual, with farm property g rape harvester and with rented grape harvester. The approach that we propose analyses depth images built from 3D point clouds corresponding to a 30 cm segment of the tree trunk in order to extract characteristic shape features used for classifying the different tree species using the Random Forest classifier.
