The quantum chiral Minkowski and conformal superspaces

2010

We give a quantum deformation of the chiral super Minkowski space in four dimensions as the big cell inside a quantum super Grassmannian. The quantization is performed in such way that the actions of the Poincar\'e and conformal quantum supergroups on the quantum Minkowski and quantum conformal superspaces are presented.

Impact of curvature divergences on physical observers in a wormhole space-time with horizons

2016

The impact of curvature divergences on physical observers in a black hole space-time which, nonetheless, is geodesically complete is investigated. This space-time is an exact solution of certain extensions of General Relativity coupled to Maxwell's electrodynamics and, roughly speaking, consists on two Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m (or Schwarzschild or Minkowski) geometries connected by a spherical wormhole near the center. We find that, despite the existence of infinite tidal forces, causal contact is never lost among the elements making up the observer. This suggests that curvature divergences may not be as pathological as traditionally thought.

Unitarity of Minkowski nonlocal theories made explicit

2021

In this work we explicitly show that the perturbative unitarity of analytic infinite derivative (AID) scalar field theories can be achieved using a modified prescription for computing scattering amplitudes. The crux of the new prescription is the analytic continuation of a result obtained in the Euclidean signature to the Minkowski external momenta. We intensively elaborate an example of a non-local $\phi^4$ model for various infinite derivative operators. General UV properties of amplitudes in non-local theories are discussed.

Relativistic positioning: four-dimensional numerical approach in Minkowski space-time

2011

We simulate the satellite constellations of two Global Navigation Satellite Systems: Galileo (EU) and GPS (USA). Satellite motions are described in the Schwarzschild space-time produced by an idealized spherically symmetric non rotating Earth. The trajectories are then circumferences centered at the same point as Earth. Photon motions are described in Minkowski space-time, where there is a well known relation, Coll, Ferrando & Morales-Lladosa (2010), between the emission and inertial coordinates of any event. Here, this relation is implemented in a numerical code, which is tested and applied. The first application is a detailed numerical four-dimensional analysis of the so-called emissi…

Particle creation by wormholes: A 1 + 1 model

2020

The propagation of a free massless scalar field in a [Formula: see text]-dimensional Minkowski space modeling, a wormhole is considered. The wormhole model consists on two timelike trajectories, which represent the entrance and the exit of the wormhole, connected via some transfer function that specifies how incoming modes that reach the entrance are transferred to the exit. We find that particles and energy fluxes are generically produced except for transfer functions that represent global conformal transformations. We consider several examples involving exit trajectories which are asymptotically inertial, asymptotically null, and also involving a faster-than-light motion to illustrate th…

Positioning in a flat two-dimensional space-time

2008

The basic theory on relativistic positioning systems in a two-dimensional space-time and the analysis of the possibility of making relativistic gravimetry with these systems have been presented elsewhere [Phys. Rev. D 73 , 084017 (2006); Phys. Rev. D 74 , 104003 (2006)]. Here we summarize these results and we outline new issues on the relativistic positioning systems in Minkowski plane. We point out that the accelerations of the emitters and of the user along their trajectories are determined by the sole knowledge of the emitter positioning data and of the acceleration of only one of the emitters and only during a light echo interval.

LocalD=4field theory onκ-deformed Minkowski space

2000

We describe the local $D=4$ field theory on $\ensuremath{\kappa}$-deformed Minkowski space as a nonlocal relativistic field theory on standard Minkowski space-time. For simplicity the case of a $\ensuremath{\kappa}$-deformed scalar field $\ensuremath{\varphi}$ with the interaction $\ensuremath{\lambda}{\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{4}$ is considered, and the $\ensuremath{\kappa}$-deformed interaction vertex is described. It appears that the fundamental mass parameter $\ensuremath{\kappa}$ plays the role of regularizing the imaginary Pauli-Villars mass in the $\ensuremath{\kappa}$-deformed propagator.

A covariant constituent-quark formalism for mesons

2014

Using the framework of the Covariant Spectator Theory (CST) [1] we are developing a covariant model formulated in Minkowski space to study mesonic structure and spectra. Treating mesons as effective $q\bar{q}$ states, we focused in [2] on the nonrelativistic bound-state problem in momentum space with a linear confining potential. Although integrable, this kernel has singularities which are difficult to handle numerically. In [2] we reformulate it into a form in which all singularities are explicitely removed. The resulting equations are then easier to solve and yield accurate and stable solutions. In the present work, the same method is applied to the relativistic case, improving upon the r…

SDSS DR7 superclusters. Morphology

2011

We study the morphology of a set of superclusters drawn from the SDSS DR7. We calculate the luminosity density field to determine superclusters from a flux- limited sample of galaxies from SDSS DR7, and select superclusters with 300 and more galaxies for our study. The morphology of superclusters is described with the fourth Minkowski functional V3, the morphological signature (the curve in the shapefinder's K1-K2 plane) and the shape parameter (the ratio of the shapefinders K1/K2). We investigate the supercluster sample using multidimensional normal mixture modelling, and use Abell clusters to identify our superclusters with known superclusters and to study the large-scale distribution of …

Implications of nonsymmetric metric theories for particle physics. New interpretation of the Pauli coupling

2014

In this work, we provide a possible geometrical interpretation of the spin of elementary particles. In particular, it is investigated how the wave equations of matter are altered by the addition of an antisymmetric contribution to the metric tensor. In this scenario, the explicit form of the matter wave equations is investigated in a general curved spacetime, and then the equations are particularized to the flat case. Unlike traditional approaches of Nonsymmetric Gravitational Theories (NGT), in which the gravitational field is responsible for breaking the symmetry of the flat Minkowski metric, we find more natural to consider that, in general, the metric of the spacetime could be nonsymme…
