From the visual arts to music and literature, ‘miniatures’ are a transcultural and transhistorical phenomenon that involves our aesthetic attitudes but also our everyday life, our emotional, social and cognitive life. Miniaturisation characterises our cognitive life and, of course, the ‘cognitive life of things’ that we produce, manipulate and discard. Limiting Carleman weights and conformally transversally anisotropic manifolds

We analyze the structure of the set of limiting Carleman weights in all conformally flat manifolds, 3 3 -manifolds, and 4 4 -manifolds. In particular we give a new proof of the classification of Euclidean limiting Carleman weights, and show that there are only three basic such weights up to the action of the conformal group. In dimension three we show that if the manifold is not conformally flat, there could be one or two limiting Carleman weights. We also characterize the metrics that have more than one limiting Carleman weight. In dimension four we obtain a complete spectrum of examples according to the structure of the Weyl tensor. Methylprednisolone-induced hepatotoxicity in a 16-year-old girl with multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease with demyelination of the central nervous system. High-dosage corticosteroids are the first-line therapy in the acute relapsing of MS. We report a case of severe high-dose methylprednisolone-induced acute hepatitis in a patient with a new diagnosis of MS. A 16-year-old girl was admitted for urticaria, angioedema, nausea and vomiting a month later she had been diagnosed with MS and treated with high-dosage methylprednisolone. Laboratory investigations showed hepatic insufficiency with grossly elevated liver enzymes. A liver biopsy showed focal centrilobular hepatocyte necrosis with interface hepatitis.
