La diabetes mellitus (DM) es un problema creciente de salud pública en todo el mundo. En España la mayoría de estudios muestran ratios de prevalencia entre el 10% y el 15%. Los estudios de prevalencia de polineuropatía diabética (PNPD) muestran resultados muy dispares que oscilan entre un 22,7% a un 54%. Un 70% de las amputaciones de miembros inferiores suceden en personas con DM y un 85% de todas las amputaciones están precedidas por una úlcera. Se considera que el 25% de los pacientes con DM desarrollará úlcera plantar y un 2% requerirá amputación. Protection of human eyes or sensitive detectors from high-intensity laser radiation is an important challenge in modern light technologies. Metasurfaces have proved to be valuable tools for such light control, but the actual possibility of merging multiple materials in the nanofabrication process hinders their application. Here we propose and numerically investigate the opto-thermal properties of plane multilayered structures with phase-change materials for optical limiters. Abstract Moving visual stimuli can elicit the sensation of self-motion in stationary observers, a phenomenon commonly referred to as vection. Despite the long history of vection research, the neuro-cognitive processes underlying vection have only recently gained increasing attention. It is unclear whether the association between the visual attention (VA) span and reading differs across languages. Here we studied this relationship in Arabic, where the use of specific reading strategies depends on the amount of diacritics on words: reading vowelized and nonvowelized Arabic scripts favor sublexical and lexical strategies, respectively. We hypothesized that the size of the VA span and its association to reading would differ depending on individual �script preferences.� We compared children who were more proficient in reading fully vowelized Arabic than nonvowelized Arabic (VOW) to children for whom the opposite was true (NOVOW). Geochemistry of Chromian Spinels from the Indo-Myanmar Ophiolite Belt of Northeastern India

Chromite is commonly used for deciphering the petrogenesis and geodynamic setting of ultramafic rocks. Chromespinels from the Indo-Myanmar ophiolite belt occurring in the form of podiform chromitites associated with the mantle sequence and associated volcanic rocks are studied to characterise their geochemical composition. We have measured major and trace element concentrations of the chrome-spinels. Cr/(Cr+Al) (Cr#) and Mg/(Mg+Fe 2+ ) (Mg#) range from 66 to 70 and 66 to 69 respectively in the chromitite and 47 to 56 and 67 to 70 in volcanic spinel.
