La motte médiévale de Drosnay (Marne) : résultats de deux sondages archéologiques

Deux opérations de diagnostic réalisées en 2008 et 2009 ont permis de mettre au jour un segment du fossé d’enceinte d’une motte répertoriée depuis le XIXe s., ainsi que les restes d’un bâtiment en pierre sur sa partie sommitale. Le fossé a livré un mobilier dont la chronologie est centrée sur le XIIIe s. alors que le bâtiment n’est pas antérieur au XVe s. Les remaniements ayant affecté ce site sont nombreux. Dès le XVe s. d’importants travaux de remblaiement et de nivellement semblent modifier l’angle sud-ouest de la motte. The Meier Helmbrecht, written by Wernher der Gärtner between 1250 and 1280, has often been object of study especially with regard to the protagonist’s extreme ambition and the disowning of his own origins and of his family heritage, but it also offers excellent opportunities for linguistic reflexions. Contrary to what is expected in a text, where the main character lives an immoral life and where his family is constantly concerned about his fate, there are few words to express fear or anxiety, but Wernher der Gärtner chooses the words used carefully, highlighting the different ways the characters perceive and reveal these emotions. The preventive archaeological excavations conducted by Inrap under the direction of Édith Peytremann in 2010, in the commune of Pfulgriesheim in the Kochersberg region, led to the discovery of a settlement sector occupied from the middle of the 7th century to the end of the 11th century. The singularity of the site lies in the absence of any pole constructions and the subdivision of the sector, from the 10th century onwards, by building on cellars associated with excavated huts, pits, and silos. National audience; Ces recherches sur les ensembles de structures de pierre sous forêt sont mises en œuvre depuis dix ans et sont inté- grées depuis 2003 dans le P.C.R. ‘Vix et son Environnement', dirigé par C. Mordant, S. Wirth et B. Chaume. Les vestiges étudiés sont implantés dans deux milieux géographiques distincts mais contigus : le plateau calcaire recouvert par la forêt domaniale de Châtillon, et les rebords de la Digeanne et du Brevon qui entaillent ce plateau à l'est et au sud.
