The objective of this paper is to report on the activities carried out during the first year of the Italian project “Use of COSMO-SkyMed data for LANDcover classification and surface parameters retrieval over agricultural sites” (COSMOLAND), funded by the Italian Space Agency. The project intends to contribute to the COSMO-SkyMed mission objectives in the agriculture and hydrology application domains.

Agile methodologies are sometimes adopted, with the assumption that benefits can be attained by only using a set of best practices, which can sometimes work to a degree. In this paper, a case is discussed where a software-producing organization of seven teams achieved significant improvements. The goal of the research was to answer two questions: how an already agile organization could improve its performance further and what is the impact of promoting quality aspects? In this Master’s thesis, the future of bottle recycling in the United States of America will be examined through interest, incentive and an infrastructure (iii) model. One of the American ways to recycle bottles, namely, the Dream Machine initiative, will be compared to the Finnish bottle recycling system. It will shed light through surveys done from Finnish high school students and randomly selected Americans about bottle recycling behaviour. Indicaxanthin is a bioactive and bioavailable betalain pigment extracted from Opuntia ficus indica fruits. Indicaxanthin has pharmacokinetics proprieties, rarely found in other phytochemicals, and it has been demonstrated that it provides a broad-spectrum of pharmaceutical activity, exerting antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory and neuromodulator effects. Identifying territories using presence-only citizen science data : An application to the Finnish wolf population

Citizens, community groups and local institutions participate in voluntary biological monitoring of population status and trends by providing species data e.g. for regulations and conservation. Sophisticated statistical methods are required to unlock the potential of such data in the assessment of wildlife populations. We develop a statistical modelling framework for identifying territories based on presence-only citizen science data. Dado que la compositora, Bracha Bdil, pertenece a la comunidad ortodoxa de Europa del Este, muchas de sus obras se basan en la tradición musical de los modos judíos de Europa del Este y los textos de estas fuentes. La fusión de la técnica compositiva contemporánea con los elementos de la antigua tradición judía conduce a la compositora a un lenguaje compositivo muy personal.

La presente tesis doctoral está centrada en el análisis de las identidades de la mujer contemporánea representadas en el discurso de las ediciones española y estadounidense de la revista Cosmopolitan. Esta investigación permite reflexionar sobre el concepto de identidad (Bauman, 2005, Lipovetsky, 2016), principalmente la identidad de la mujer en los contextos socioculturales de España y Estados Unidos (Butler, 1990; Giddens, 1995; Hinojosa, 2005).
