The role of social interaction during pre-performance routines : An individual zones of optimal functioning (IZOF) perspective
2019
The purpose of the current study was to provide an exploratory account of swimmers’ pre-performance routines prior to a successful performance and the influential role that social interaction plays during this time. Eight swimmers’ descriptions of their pre-performance routines were analyzed using an interpretive thematic analysis to identify salient storylines. Two overarching themes were identified: (a) athletes’ interactions with the social environment; and (b) connection between the social modality and other modalities of a psychobiosocial state. The authors conclude by promoting a move towards more contextualized understandings of pre-performance routines and an acknowledgement of the …
Thermoelectric radiation detector based on a superconductor-ferromagnet junction : Calorimetric regime
2018
We study the use of a thermoelectric junction as a thermal radiation detector in the calorimetric regime, where single radiation bursts can be separated in time domain. We focus especially on the case of a large thermoelectric figure of merit ZT affecting significantly, for example, the relevant thermal time scales. This work is motivated by the use of hybrid superconductor/ferromagnet systems in creating an unprecedentedly high low-temperature ZT even exceeding unity. Besides constructing a very general noise model which takes into account cross correlations between charge and heat noise, we show how the detector signal can be efficiently multiplexed by the use of resonant LC circuits givi…

CO(2)-water supercritical mixtures: Test of a potential model against neutron diffraction data
2007
Abstract A neutron diffraction experiment on supercritical mixtures of water and CO 2 at two concentrations is presented. Data are analyzed within the EPSR framework and the water–water and water–CO 2 radial distribution functions are compared with those calculated by a Molecular Dynamics simulation performed by using the TIPS2 and EPM-M potential models for water and CO 2 respectively. It is found that the Molecular Dynamics simulation reproduces the overall shape of the site–site radial distribution functions, although missing a few subtle changes brought along when the CO 2 concentration is increased.
Shell-model study on event rates of lightest supersymmetric particles scattering off 83Kr and 125Te
2016
We investigate the elastic and inelastic scattering of lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) dark matter off two possible target nuclei, 83Kr and 125Te. For the nuclear-structure calculations, we employ the nuclear shell model using recently generated realistic interactions. We have condensed the nuclear-physics contribution to a set of nuclear-structure factors that are independent of the adopted supersymmetric (SUSY) model. Total event rates are then easily calculated by combining the nuclear-structure factors with SUSY parameters of choice. In particular, 125Te shows promise as a detector material with both the elastic and inelastic channels yielding an appreciable nuclear response. pee…
Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments
2016
We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…

Virtualization of work in global supply chains
2016
ABSTRACT. Background: The paper is devoted to the notion and benefits of implementing virtual work in global supply chains. Virtual work must be understood as an intentional activity of a human being, aimed at rendering services (tangible and intangible), by means of ITC tools, performed in a distance from the traditional place of work, in a mobile manner. The empirical research were conducted on the basis of 4 case studies of global leaders of supply chains, which in accordance with M. Fisher's classification, represent two types. The case studies confirmed the positive influence of virtual work both in effective and flexible supply chains. Favourable market and technological conditions an…
Maturity of Supply Chain as a Factor of Modeling the Relationships with Suppliers
2017
The following paper will discuss the level of maturity of the supply chain as a main factor that determines supplier relationships in the supply chain. The Ch. C. Piorier categorization was taken into consideration, where the development of supply chains includes 5 stages. Analysis of individual stages of supply chain maturity towards presented classification is a substitute for identifying different models of supplier relationships in the supply chain. In the supply chain, supplier relationships are established in order to enter into a partnership. Establishing relationships with suppliers in the supply chain appears to create by a stronger partnership. The capability of this cooperation d…
