PerPot: A metamodel for simulation of load performance interaction
2001
A metamodel is introduced, which on one hand can help to understand particular effects and phenomena in the interaction of load and performance in training processes. On the other hand, it can be used as a starting point for refinements to specific adaptation models. Finally, a software tool has been developed that supports different simulation approaches—for example, basic analysis of model parameter influences, diagnosis of the state of real adaptation systems, optimization of given load performance interactions, and planning optimal training schedules.
The Multiscale Stochastic Model of Fractional Hereditary Materials (FHM)
2013
Abstract In a recent paper the authors proposed a mechanical model corresponding, exactly, to fractional hereditary materials (FHM). Fractional derivation index 13 E [0,1/2] corresponds to a mechanical model composed by a column of massless newtonian fluid resting on a bed of independent linear springs. Fractional derivation index 13 E [1/2, 1], corresponds, instead, to a mechanical model constituted by massless, shear-type elastic column resting on a bed of linear independent dashpots. The real-order of derivation is related to the exponent of the power-law decay of mechanical characteristics. In this paper the authors aim to introduce a multiscale fractance description of FHM in presence …
Analysis of the spawning stock-recruitment relationship of vendace (Coregonus albula (L.)) with evaluation of alternative models, additional variable…
2004
– Spawning biomass and recruitment data for vendace from a central Finnish lake were analysed by fitting various recruitment models and comparing the fits statistically. The compensatory models of Ricker, Cushing and Beverton & Holt fitted the data better than the H0 hypothesis of constant proportionality, but model and parameter uncertainties were high. Additional variables were included in an attempt to reduce uncertainties. Heavy wind forcing during the first month after hatching of larvae reduced the recruitment success. For the Ricker and the Cushing models, recruitment seemed to be also negatively associated with the density of the previous year-class. The r2 increased considerably w…
Does GRS 1915+105 exhibit "canonical" black-hole states?
2003
We have analysed RXTE data of the superluminal source GRS 1915+105 in order to investigate if, despite its extreme variability, it also exhibits the canonical source states that characterise other black-hole candidates. The phenomenology of GRS 1915+105 has been described in terms of three states (named A, B and C) based on their hardness ratios and position in the colour-colour diagram. We have investigated the connection between these states and the canonical behaviour and found that the shape of the power spectral continuum and the values of the best-fit model parameters to the noise components in all three states indicate that the source shows properties similar to the canonical very hi…
General parametrization of Majorana neutrino mass models
2020
We discuss a general formula which allows to automatically reproduce experimental data for Majorana neutrino mass models, while keeping the complete set of the remaining model parameters free for general scans, as necessary in order to provide reliable predictions for observables outside the neutrino sector. We provide a proof of this master parametrization and show how to apply it for several well-known neutrino mass models from the literature. We also discuss a list of special cases, in which the Yukawa couplings have to fulfill some particular additional conditions.
High Field Polarization Response in Ferroelectrics: Current Solutions and Challenges
2006
Polarization response including ergodicity breaking and the divergence of relaxation time is reproduced for model Hamiltonians of growing complexity. Systematic derivation of the dynamical equations and its solutions is based on the Fokker-Planck and imaginary time Schrödinger equation techniques with subsequent symplectic integration. Test solutions are addressed to finite size and spatially extended problems with microscopically interpretation of the model parameters as a challenge.
RChL currents in Tauola: implementation and fit parameters
2013
We present the results of a partial upgrade to the Monte Carlo event generator TAUOLA using Resonance Chiral Theory for the two and three meson final states. These modes account for 88% of total hadronic width of the tau meson. The first results of the model parameters have been obtained using Preliminary BaBar data for the three pion mode.
Form factors for semileptonic, nonleptonic, and rareB(Bs)meson decays
2012
We provide new values for the model parameters of the covariant constituent quark model (with built–in infrared confinement) in the meson sector by a fit to the leptonic decay constants and a number of electromagnetic decays. We then evaluate, in a parameter-free way, the form factors of the B(Bs) ! P(V ) transitions in the full kinematical region of momentum transfer. As an application of our results we calculate the widths of the nonleptonic Bs-decays into Ds D + , D s D + s +D s D + s
Search for massive, long-lived particles using multitrack displaced vertices or displaced lepton pairs inppcollisions ats=8 TeVwith the ATLAS detect…
2015
Many extensions of the Standard Model posit the existence of heavy particles with long lifetimes. This article presents the results of a search for events containing at least one long-lived particle that decays at a significant distance from its production point into two leptons or into five or more charged particles. This analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1) collected in 2012 by the ATLAS detector operating at the Large Hadron Collider. No events are observed in any of the signal regions, and limits are set on model parameters within supersymmetric scenarios involving R-parity violation, split sup…
Bs,d0→ℓ+ℓ− Decays in Two-Higgs Doublet Models
2016
Abstract We study the rare leptonic decays B s , d 0 → l + l − within the general framework of the aligned two-Higgs doublet model [1]. A complete one-loop calculation of the relevant short-distance Wilson coefficients is presented, with a detailed technical summary of the results. The phenomenological constraints imposed by present data on the model parameters are also investigated.
