Shell-model study on event rates of lightest supersymmetric particles scattering off 83Kr and 125Te

2016

We investigate the elastic and inelastic scattering of lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) dark matter off two possible target nuclei, 83Kr and 125Te. For the nuclear-structure calculations, we employ the nuclear shell model using recently generated realistic interactions. We have condensed the nuclear-physics contribution to a set of nuclear-structure factors that are independent of the adopted supersymmetric (SUSY) model. Total event rates are then easily calculated by combining the nuclear-structure factors with SUSY parameters of choice. In particular, 125Te shows promise as a detector material with both the elastic and inelastic channels yielding an appreciable nuclear response. pee…

Global analysis of the pMSSM in light of the Fermi GeV excess: prospects for the LHC Run-II and astroparticle experiments

2016

We present a new global fit of the 19-dimensional phenomenological Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (pMSSM-19) that comply with all the latest experimental results from dark matter indirect, direct and accelerator dark matter searches. We show that the model provides a satisfactory explanation of the excess of gamma-rays from the Galactic centre observed by the Fermi~Large Area Telescope, assuming that it is produced by the annihilation of neutralinos in the Milky Way halo. We identify two regions that pass all the constraints: the first corresponds to neutralinos with a mass ~80-100 GeV annihilating into WW with a branching ratio of 95% ; the second to heavier neutralinos, with mass ~…

Maturity of Supply Chain as a Factor of Modeling the Relationships with Suppliers

2017

The following paper will discuss the level of maturity of the supply chain as a main factor that determines supplier relationships in the supply chain. The Ch. C. Piorier categorization was taken into consideration, where the development of supply chains includes 5 stages. Analysis of individual stages of supply chain maturity towards presented classification is a substitute for identifying different models of supplier relationships in the supply chain. In the supply chain, supplier relationships are established in order to enter into a partnership. Establishing relationships with suppliers in the supply chain appears to create by a stronger partnership. The capability of this cooperation d…

Comparison of the Richardson and BCS models of superconductivity based on calculations of ground state energies

2017

Richardsonin malli on harvemmin käytetty malli, josta saadaan redusoidun BCS Hamiltonin operaattorin tarkat ominaistilat. Lasken molempien mallien perustilojen energiat sekä redusoidulle että täydelle BCS Hamiltonin operaattorille. Sama lasketaan…

Automatic surrogate modelling technique selection based on features of optimization problems

2019

A typical scenario when solving industrial single or multiobjective optimization problems is that no explicit formulation of the problem is available. Instead, a dataset containing vectors of decision variables together with their objective function value(s) is given and a surrogate model (or metamodel) is build from the data and used for optimization and decision-making. This data-driven optimization process strongly depends on the ability of the surrogate model to predict the objective value of decision variables not present in the original dataset. Therefore, the choice of surrogate modelling technique is crucial. While many surrogate modelling techniques have been discussed in the liter…

Initial-Stage Suicide Bereavement Experiences: A Case Study.

2022

This study aimed to shed light on the initial-stage bereavement experiences of an individual bereaved by suicide, at three months from the loss of his spouse to suicide. A semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted with the individual, a man in his thirties. The data were analyzed using qualitative assimilation analysis, based on the Assimilation Model and the Assimilation of Problematic Experiences Scale (APES). The APES ratings of the interview revealed that the individual’s bereavement was associated with the earlier stages of APES (all scoring under 3.5). In addition, the swift and frequent fluctuations in the APES ratings gave indications that the bereavement was unstable and co…

UTILIZZO DEL SISTEMA GOOGLE EARTH PER LA DEFINIZIONE DI UN MODELLO DI SUSCETTIBILITÀ DA FRANA: UN TEST IN SICILIA CENTRALE

2011

Exploiting Google EarthTM to assess a landslide susceptibility model: a test in central Sicily. A landslide susceptibility multivariate model, based on the conditional analysis approach, has been derived in the Tumarrano river basin (about 78 km2), by intersecting a GIS grid layer, expressing some selected geo-environmental conditions (outcropping lithology, steepness, plan curvature and topographic wetness index), and a landslide vector archive, produced by a Google EarthTM aided remote survey. The analysis of the Google EarthTM images dated at 2006, allowed to recognize 733 landslides (30 rotational slides and 703 flows), almost exclusively affecting clay and sandy clay rocks. Validation …
