New Solution for Telescopic Robotic Arm

This paper deals with a Robotic arm actuated by a monomobil telescopic planetary gear and servo DC motor. Experimental model of robot was designed and manufactured at the Faculty of Engineering from Sibiu, (Patent no. 112418 CI6.B25J 18/02). The Servo DC as actuator drives a reel. Wires on the reel will produce displacement of telescopic modules from robotic arm structure. The reference as a voltage for future arm displacement is provided by a PWM generator. The rotation of the reel in one way or another has the effect of lengthening or shortening robotic arm. Robotic arm length is directly related to the PWM signal. Control of robotic arm positioning is done with a linear transducer.

Control of an open-end winding induction machine via a two-output indirect matrix converter

In this paper an Indirect Matrix Converter (IMC) with two output stages feeding an open-end winding induction machine is presented. The IMC has the advantage of having nobulky energy storage elements and with the two output stages up to 1.5 times the input phase voltage can be obtained across the windings of the machine, without overmodulation. A vector control scheme for the machine currents is used along with a modulation strategy for the converter two-output stages to reduce the common mode voltage and compensate the phase zero sequence currents. The system here taken into account is moved by a modular multiple blade fixed pitch wind turbine (MMBFPWT) and foresees a new MPPT algorithm whose main characteristics are low cost, low noise, buildings simplicity and modularity. In this paper a new low cost device is proposed for fault location in power distribution system. The device is part of a system that should include several units installed in couples at the two ends of MV cable lines. Their low cost justifies a widespread installation of these devices, moreover other functionalities could be considered so as to enrich the potential of the system for MV cables monitoring and asset management. The aim of the paper is to evaluate the technical feasibility and aspects related to the use, in an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), of fuel cells instead of traditional electrochemical batteries. The proposed system, named UPS-FCB (Fuel Cell Based) presents a modular and versatile system configuration; particularly it is possible to integrate it with traditional UPS.
