On the nonarchimedean quadratic Lagrange spectra

We study Diophantine approximation in completions of functions fields over finite fields, and in particular in fields of formal Laurent series over finite fields. We introduce a Lagrange spectrum for the approximation by orbits of quadratic irrationals under the modular group. We give nonarchimedean analogs of various well known results in the real case: the closedness and boundedness of the Lagrange spectrum, the existence of a Hall ray, as well as computations of various Hurwitz constants. We use geometric methods of group actions on Bruhat-Tits trees. peerReviewed

Fiber-reinforced composite materials are often used in structural applications in humid, marine, and offshore environments. Superior mechanical properties are compromised by environmental ageing and hydrolytic degradation. Glass fibers are the most broadly used type of fiber reinforcement to date. However, they are also most severely affected by environmental degradation. The glass fiber degradation rates depend on: (1) glass formulation; (2) environmental factors: pH, T, stress; (3) sizing; (4) matrix polymer; (5) fiber orientation and composite layup. Calculating loops without loop calculations: Next-to-leading order computation of pentaquark correlators

We compute next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD corrections to the correlators of interpolating pentaquark currents and their absorptive parts. We employ modular techniques in configuration space which saves us from the onus of having to do loop calculations. The modular technique is explained in some detail. We present explicit NLO results for several interpolating pentaquark currents that have been written down in the literature. Our modular approach is easily adapted to the case of NLO corrections to multiquark correlators with an arbitrary number of quarks/antiquarks.
Modular symmetry origin of texture zeros and quark-lepton unification

The even weight modular forms of level $N$ can be arranged into the common irreducible representations of the inhomogeneous finite modular group $\Gamma_N$ and the homogeneous finite modular group $\Gamma'_N$ which is the double covering of $\Gamma_N$, and the odd weight modular forms of level $N$ transform in the new representations of $\Gamma'_N$. We find that the above structure of modular forms can naturally generate texture zeros of the fermion mass matrices if we properly assign the representations and weights of the matter fields under the modular group. On the rigidity theorem for elliptic genera

We give a detailed proof of the rigidity theorem for elliptic gen- era. Using the Lefschetz fixed point formula we carefully analyze the relation between the characteristic power series defining the elliptic genera and the equivariant elliptic genera. We show that equivariant elliptic genera converge to Jacobi functions which are holomorphic. This implies the rigidity of elliptic genera. Our approach can be easily modified to give a proof of the rigidity theorem for the elliptic genera of level N.

Pharmaceutical nanosuspensions are formed when drug crystals are suspended in aqueous media in the presence of stabilizers. This technology offers a convenient way to enhance the dissolution of poorly water-soluble drug compounds. The stabilizers exert their action through electrostatic or steric interactions, however, the molecular requirements of stabilizing agents have not been studied extensively. The paper deals with cold recovery during LNG regasification. The applications analyzed pertain to the use in deep freezing agro food industry and in space air conditioning facilities in commercial sector (Supermarkets and Hypermarkets) of cold recovered from the regasification process.
