The “little background music of architecture”: critical approach to archival sources of the 20th century in regional area
2022
Virgin and Child sculptures in Buenos Aire’s public collections, 12th to 16th centuries
2016
During the last years, the building process and history of art collections became a prolific field of study in Argentina. However, research on medieval art in private and public collections in our country received little or no attention. But even if medieval art is considerably less represented than modern styles, there is an interesting amount of high quality medieval pieces exhibited at several museums in Argentina. The main purpose of this thesis is therefore to expand our knowledge of the medieval works of art in public Argentine collections, as related to their origin, dating, interpretation, technique and provenance. These pieces show great diversity of styles, provenance and techniqu…
Pullneyocoris dentatus gen. et sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Pentatomoidea: Cydnidae), the third representative of the subfamily Amnestinae from mid-Cretaceou…
2020
Abstract A new genus and species of burrower bug, Pullneyocoris dentatus gen. et sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Cydnidae: Amnestinae), is described from amber of northern Myanmar. It is the third representative of this family known from Burmese amber, and besides its autapomorphies, it presents a mixture of characters relevant to the extant Parachilocoris Horvath, 1919 and Pullneya Horvath, 1919. A comparison of this new genus to the two genera already described from the burmite, i.e. Chilamnestocoris Lis J.A., Lis. B. & Heiss, 2018, and Punctacorona Wang, Du, Yao & Ren, 2019 is also provided.

Efficient MLP Digital Implementation on FPGA
2005
The efficiency and the accuracy of a digital feed-forward neural networks must be optimized to obtain both high classification rate and minimum area on chip. In this paper an efficient MLP digital implementation. The key features of the hardware implementation are the virtual neuron based architecture and the use of the sinusoidal activation function for the hidden layer. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions has been evaluated developing different FPGA based neural prototypes for the High Energy Physics domain and the automatic Road Sign Recognition domain. The use of the sinusoidal activation function decreases hardware resource employment of about 32% when compared with the standar…
Characterization of electronic properties of the Cr(CO)3 group in chromium, tricarbonyl [3-[(η6-aryl)methylene]-Z-1(3H)-isobenzofuranones] using spec…
1999
Abstract The IR, 13C- and 17O-NMR spectral characteristics of the Cr(CO)3 group in a series of eight chromium, tricarbonyl[3-[(η6-aryl)methylene]-Z-1(3H)-isobenzofuranones] were correlated mutually as well as with theoretical data obtained by optimized MMX force-field and EHT calculations. The net charges on the carbon and oxygen atoms of the CO group and their differences were found as the most appropriate quantitative characteristics for the electronic properties of the Cr(CO)3 group. Using the results of the previously reported linear correlations, the electron-withdrawing effect of the PhCr(CO)3 moiety, weakened by the back-donation effect, was estimated as σα≅0.45 on the scale of Hamm…
A one-dimensional simulation of the interaction between land surface processes and the atmosphere
1992
A one-dimensional soil-vegetation model is developed for future incorporation into a mesoscale model. The interaction of land surface processes with the overlying atmosphere is treated in terms of three coupled balance equations describing the energy and moisture transfer at the ground and the energy state of the vegetation layer. For a complete description of the interaction, the coupled processes of heat and moisture transport within the soil are included as a multilayer soil model. As model verification, successful reproductions of the observed energy fluxes over vegetated surfaces from the HAPEX-MOBILHY experiment in southwestern France and from the LOTREX-10E/HIBE88 field experiment in…
Towards Estimation of Seasonal Water Dynamics of Winter Wheat from Ground-Based L-Band Radiometry
2021
The vegetation optical depth (VOD) parameter contains information on plant water content and biomass, and can be estimated alongside soil moisture from currently operating satellite radiometer missions, such as SMOS (ESA) and SMAP (NASA). The estimation of water fluxes, such as plant water uptake (PWU) and transpiration rate (TR), from these Earth system parameters (VOD, soil moisture) requires assessing potential (suction tension) gradients of water and flow resistances in the soil, the vegetation and the atmosphere, yet it remains an elusive challenge especially on global scale. Here, we used a field-scale experiment to test mechanistic models for the estimation of seasonal water fluxes (…
Controlling Factors of the Climate
1988
Since climate represents the characteristic biospheric conditions at a location or area, it chiefly results from the varying solar and atmospheric moisture and circulation conditions over space and time. Climate at any space or time level is, therefore, represented by certain expressions of the various atmospheric elements, which are concerned with radiation, temperature, sunshine, precipitation and others. The superior impact of the atmosphere upon climate is governed by various factors which control the climate; these climate-controlling factors are, in the widest sense, of a topographical nature (see Sects. 2.1–2.3). Additionally, seasons will be considered as a climate-controlling facto…
Assessment of the SMAP Level-4 Surface and Root-Zone Soil Moisture Product Using In Situ Measurements
2017
International audience; The Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) mission Level-4 Surface and Root-Zone Soil Moisture (L4_SM) data product is generated by assimilating SMAP L-band brightness temperature observations into the NASA Catchment land surface model. The L4_SM product is available from 31 March 2015 to present (within 3 days from real time) and provides 3-hourly, global, 9-km resolution estimates of surface (0-5 cm) and root-zone (0-100 cm) soil moisture and land surface conditions. This study presents an overview of the L4_SM algorithm, validation approach, and product assessment versus in situ measurements. Core validation sites provide spatially averaged surface (root zone) soil m…
