Complexes hétéronucléaires Cp2MM′(Cp)(CO)3 (M  Nb, Ta; M′  Mo, W) avec groupes carbonyles pontants et semi-pontants: synthèse et comportement dynam…

1991

Abstract Heteronuclear structures Cp 2 MM′(Cp)(CO) 3 (M  Nb, Ta; M′  Mo, W) are obtained by heating Cp 2 MH 3 (M  Nb, Ta) with Cp 2 M′ 2 (CO) 6 (M′  Mo, W) or starting from Cp 2 M(CO)H and Cp 2 M′ 2 (CO) 4 . These heterobimetallic complexes show three CO coordination modes: terminal, semi-bridging and bridging. The two cyclopentadienyl groups of the Cp 2 M moiety are anisochronous owing to molecular rigidity; rotation barriers around the MM′ bond have been estimated and are greatest with tantalum derivatives.

Pertosylated polyaza[n](9,10)anthracenophanes

1997

Abstract Pertosylated polyaza[n](9,10)antracenophanes have been obtained in high yields by a modification of the Richman-Atkins methodology. Molecular Mechanics calculations as well as the crystal structure of the N,N′,N″,N‴-Tetratosyl-2,6,9,13-tetraaza[14](9,10)anthracenophane 4 derivative reveal the existence of a well defined cavity where both the aromatic moiety and the nitrogen donor atoms converge. Reduced mobility of the aliphatic chain is also observed as well as the presence of some strain at the benzylic positions.

Synthesis and preliminary antibacterial evaluation of Linezolid-like 1,2,4-oxadiazole derivatives

2012

In the present study the synthesis of new Linezolid-like molecules has been achieved by substitution of the oxazolidinone central heterocyclic moiety with a 1,2,4-oxadiazole ring. Two series of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles, bearing different side-chains and containing a varying number of fluorine atoms, were synthesized and preliminarily tested for biological activity against some Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria using Linezolid and Ceftriaxone as reference drugs

Specific interactions of monotetrahydrofuranic annonaceous acetogenins as inhibitors of mitochondrial complex I.

2000

Annonaceous acetogenins (ACG) are a wide group of cytotoxic compounds isolated from plants of the Annonaceae family. Some of them are promising candidates to be a future new generation of antitumor drugs due to the ability to inhibit the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase of the respiratory chain (mitochondrial complex I), main gate of the energy production in the cell. ACG are currently being tested on standard antitumor trials although little is known about the structure activity relationship at the molecular level. On recent studies, the relevance of several parts of the molecule for the inhibitory potency has been evaluated. Due to the great diversity of skeletons included in this family of…

Modeling the Geometric, Electronic, and Redox Properties of Iron(III)-Containing Amphiphiles with Asymmetric [NN′O] Headgroups

2011

Two iron(III)-containing amphiphiles 1 and 2 have been synthesized with the [NN'O] ligands HL(tBu-ODA) (2-((octadecyl(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol) and HL(I-ODA) (2-((octadecyl(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-4,6-diiodophenol), respectively. Compound 1 is monometallic, whereas EXAFS data suggest that 2 is a mixture of mono- and bimetallic species. The archetypical [Fe(III)(L(NN'O))(2)](+) complexes 3-9 have been isolated and characterized in order to understand the geometric, electronic, and redox properties of the amphiphiles. Preference for a monometallic or bimetallic nuclearity is dependent on (i) the nature of the solvent used for synthesis and (ii) the typ…

Antibodies directed to drug epitopes to investigate the structure of drug-protein photoadducts. Recognition of a common photobound substructure in ti…

2001

Drug-induced photoallergy is an immune adverse reaction to the combined effect of drugs and light. From the mechanistic point of view, it first involves covalent binding of drug to protein resulting in the formation of a photoantigen. Hence, determination of the structures of drug-protein photoadducts is of great relevance to understand the molecular basis of photoallergy and cross-immunoreactivity among drugs. Looking for new strategies to investigate the covalent photobinding of drugs to proteins, we generated highly specific antibodies to drug chemical substructures. The availability of such antibodies has allowed us to discriminate between the different modes by which tiaprofenic acid (…

Mono- and Bimetallic Zwitterionic Chromium(0) and Tungsten(0) Allenyls

2015

A series of stable chiral (racemic), formally neutral, zwitterionic mono- and bimetallic M(CO)5[C(OEt)═C═CR(NHC)] (M = Cr, W) σ-allenyls are ready available by the addition of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) to Cr(0) and W(0) alkynyl Fischer carbene complexes. Different classes of NHCs, (e.g., 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene, 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazolin-2-ylidene, and their six- and seven-membered analogues and 1,3-bis(dimethyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) were employed as nucleophiles in these C-C bond-forming reactions yielding the novel complexes in essentially quantitative yields. A systematic experimental and computational study of the electronic properties of the C…

Heterobimetallic complexes of cobalt(IV) porphyrin-corrole dyads. Synthesis, physicochemical properties, and X-ray structural characterization.

2005

The synthesis of a novel family of heterobinuclear cofacial biphenylene (B), anthracene (A), 9,9-dimethylxanthene (X), or dibenzofuran (O) bridged porphyrin-corrole complexes, (PCY)MClCoCl, is reported, M being either an iron(III) or manganese(III) ion. Each complex was characterized by electrochemistry, mass spectrometry, UV-vis, IR, and electron spin resonance spectroscopy. Unlike previously examined biscobalt porphyrin-corrole dyads, the cobalt ion of the corrole moiety is present in a high-valence +4 oxidation state, as proven by electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and an X-ray diffraction study of (PCB)FeClCoCl, which shows the presence of a bound Cl- anion on the cobalt corrole…

Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Unusual Lupane Saponins fromBupleurum fruticescens

1998

Extracts from Bupleurum fruticescens were examined for oral and topical anti-inflammatory activities. The BuOH extract proved to be active against carrageenan and tetradecanoylphorbol acetate acute edemas and allowed the isolation of three saponins identified by spectroscopic techniques as 3 beta-O-(O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl- (1-->6)]-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl)lup-20(29)-ene-23,28-dioic acid (fruticesaponin A), 3 beta-O-(O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl) lup-20(29)-ene-23,28-dioic acid 28-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester (fruticesaponin B), and 3 beta-O-(O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-->4)-O-[beta-D-glucopyranosyl- (1-->6)]-O-beta-D-glucopy…
