Monasteries of various religious and spiritual traditions are an interesting subject of numerous films: among them there are portraits of authentic communities (Die grosse Stille, 2004), films on historic characters (Francesco, giullare di Dio, 1948), dramas (Philomena, 2013), horrors (Devils, 1971), comedies (Sister Act, 1992), even erotic films. The paper analyzes three chosen films: Des Hommes et des Dieux (2010), Jasminum (2006) and Ostrov (2006). The anastazy Piotr Polanko’s monograph “The Franciscans in annaberg during second World War” is anew publication concerning the history of the annaberg’s cloister just before the2ndWorld War and during the war. It has been published by st. antony’s Franciscan Publisher in 2013. It was elaborated on the basis of archives of annaberg’s Franciscan cloister. Un projet immobilier de réhabilitation de l’îlot du prieuré Saint-Pierre (dépendance de l’abbaye Saint-Claude dans le Jura), accolé à l’église éponyme, au NO de la ville ancienne de Bar-sur-Aube, a entraîné la prescription d’un diagnostic archéologique sur les deux « cours » concernées par le projet et sur une analyse du potentiel archéologique conservé en élévation. Ce diagnostic a montré d’importants aménagements médiévaux encore conservés au sein du prieuré Saint-Pierre dont la création est antérieure au milieu du XIIe s., tant dans les élévations que dans les données stratigraphiques. The collection of church art of the Valamo monastery belongs to worthy rarities. Due to the evacuation from Karelia to Finland, collection survived almost complete. Despite the fact that the collection is well known to specialists in Finland and Russia, the research processes is just beginning. Especially little information exists about the icons of earlier period than of the 18th century. Almost nothing is known about the number of them, neither origins nor something about the painters of them.
